Hi, ladies! Lookin' forward to trying out this new game. (EDIT) Without knowing how long the game will last, I'm going to have to pass on being captain this round. We'll be moving soon and things are gettin' hectic. Not worry though - I'll definitely be able to read a book a week. :D

I'll pop back later with some team name ideas. All I can think of right now is TERRIBLE TWOs.

I was under the weather last couple of days so it was a nice surprise to come back online and find out that teams have been made. Yay I can't wait until we begin. :D

I like Steph's suggestion of '2 Read or Not 2 Read' as team name.
I can't think of any team names right now, but I hope I will get more inspired later. :)

Hiya! Everyone's here! Yay! :D Anxious to start and see how this works out. No doubt we'll have some growing pains along the way, but hope it will be fun for everyone.

We're moving back to the US (boo!), California specifically. Not the yay!fun! part, but the dusty, 'I'm bored' middle of the desert. LOL! I'm not ready to move back to the states yet. I've enjoyed our life overseas way so much. But, we go where the USMC sends us. I'll be crazy busy, but never too busy to read at least one book a week. So, no worries there. :)

Wow, you must move around a lot! Have you lived in California before? Lol, I guess you say California and everyone assumes LA (well I do - too much telly!)
Where have you lived in the world, Steph? You must've travelled around quite a bit.

I'm pretty busy at the moment too - got my dissertation to write. Need to have written the whole of it in one month which is probably why I haven't been around GR for a while. Never busy enough to stop reading though :P

This will be our 10th move. We've lived in CA once before, but it was in Oceanside (approx 40 miles S of San Diego). Since then (that was our first duty station), we've lived in VA (4 different locations), Hawaii, Moldova (E. Europe between Romania & Ukraine), Australia (Canberra, the capital) and now Japan (Okinawa). I LOVE traveling, whether for business or pleasure, and seeing new places, meeting new people, learning about new cultures. Now we're heading back to the blahs of America. LOL! Nah, I'm sure it'll just take some time to readjust. It will be nice to have access to some stuff we've missed while living overseas, not to mention easier access to family. :)

LOL Ezi! Moving does suck. Although, it's helped me control my pack-rat tendencies. Each time we prep for another move, we go through everything and give a lot away. Good luck w/the rest of your unpacking. I hate unpacking so much that I will completely exhaust myself by unpacking everything all at once. I have to get the boxes out of the house or I go bonkers. My OCDemoness requires that I not only unpack it all, but also find a pretty, new home for it all. It's crazy or rather it makes me crazy. Ask my husband, he steers clear while I become a whirling dervish! >;)

Does anyone want to be captain? If not, I'll try to do it.

Wow Steph you sure saw a lot of world. I like to travel on vacations/picnics but to have one permanent home base. I'm lucky that my husband feels the same way, so we usually have one big trip a year at least. :)

As for problems with choosing the team captain, it not that I am against me being a captain. It's just that 9 AM JST when the drawing of the card is is 1 AM CET (my time) - if I calculated correctly. And I am almost always asleep then. So I would not be able to post/draw on time - I would be always 7-8 late. That's why I did not volunteer for the position. :)

Steph, if you want to maybe share some of the captain duties, I wouldn't mind doing it - it's only for the first 4 weeks when I'll be busy and even then I usually check into GR every day :)

If no else wants to be Team captain, I'll jump in and do it, but if I remember right from playing bingo 9 am JST is like 9 pm Saturday nights for me cause I live in Nova Scotia Canada so that's 12 hours difference cause Japan is a day ahead of me :)

It will be such an odd feeling once he retires and we stick in one place for more than 2-3 yrs. I'll just have to do a lot of furniture rearranging and painting to make it feel like new. :)

Are you cool being Cap Kat? If not Josie and I will share it. Definitely don't want to force anyone to do it, but am more than happy to have someone else take the cap hat.

ok just so I'm understanding this correctly all team members reviews have to in on or before the next card call to move on.

So the longer it takes to get the reviews in past the deadline the less time there will be for picking and reading the next book am I correct in my thinking?

You're correct. For teams to move forward each week (after the first), all members must read, rate and review their book by this time (ish) next week. If any one member has not RRR'd their book by this day next week, the team cannot move that week. So, teams draw only once a week and only after all members have RRR'd their books.

And, of course we got green, which I'm lacking. I'll have to poke around my selves to find one I'm interested in starting. I'll share my pick soon. :)

Josie, I'd save that one for red or even orange (he looks like he's got a bronzer on). Doubleblind definitely works though.
