Unless Calibre is going out to the Amazon site itself to generate those cover images - as opposed to using the Kindle file - using them is fine.

So, Monique if I understand well, I can't use the cover included in an ebook if said ebook has been bought to Amazon, can I?
I used to scan the cover of my paper books when the cover was missing and somehow I thought that the ebook cover (the one showing in Calibre or any ereader) could be used the same way.
The ebook I have in mind is only sold through Amazon for the time being and the author doesn't seem to have a web site of his own.
Any idea is very welcome :)

You can use the ebook cover provided the cover itself isn't downloaded directly from Amazon, say from the book page. If you drop a book on Calibre it keeps a separate copy of the cover in the folder with the book (and an opf file that we don't need) and that cover can be used on Goodreads.

When I look in the Calibre folder, the images are in the .jpg form. So, just to be clear and not create any inconvenience for Goodreads, this .jpg cover is alright to use?
I hope you'll have a sunny day where you are.

Yes.

(There's a limit of 20 photos in a goodreads member's photos; but, once safely on a bookcover, you can safely delete from your own photos.)

Can you combine http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...
and that one (the original version) http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28... ?
Thank you very much and have a nice weekend.
