The book I'm reading now is a whimsical fantasy book called The Road to Oz by L. Frank Baum, So far, I'm enjoying it. It's the oldest chapter book I've ever read, I looked at the print date and it said 1909. For those of you familiar with the timeless classic The Wizard of Oz, The Road to Oz is one of the thirteen sequels that came after it. I'm planning to read the rest.
Oh man, the Oz books are a part of my childhood! I never read the first one, actually, although I watched the movie with Judy Garland. Glenda of Oz, Tik Tok of Oz, and Emerald City of Oz are the ones I remember best. I couldn't understand most of them while I was reading them (I was five or something), but the illustrations fascinated me, and I loved trying to read something big.
I finished The Road to Oz! Now I want to get The Marvelous land of Oz. What did you think of the movie? :)
The Judy Garland one? MAH CHILDHOOD. :') It's one of the greatest fantasy films of all time, and extremely influential to the genre. I watched it over and over as a kid.
Awesome :) I first saw that version when I was six. I remember begging my mom to get me a pair of ruby slippers lol. I keep hearing that the new Oz the Great and Powerful movie is good, but I don't know. The Judy Garland version of The Wizard of Oz will always be my favorite version of The Wizard of Oz on the screen. Toto is so cute :)

The Wizard of Oz legit used to be my favorite film as a child. I got it for my birthday when I was four and was OBSESSED with it for quite a few years. Never read the books though.

Oh. Oh. Eris, you killed me. I literally died laughing so hard that my Mum had to ask whether I was laughing or crying xD
This has to be one of the most entertaining threads on all of Goodreads. (Minus my uneducated posts that repeatedly had me face-palming and headdesking) So much history on one thread!! *disbelief* And I actually started that whole Ethan Rock thing?

Bwhahaha!! XD
It's a cool thread. I've been going through it all again and gotten so many laughs. No....No, I don't think you did. I said that he and I were as shippable as a rock and headphones, pointing out later that I was the headphones and he was the rock and Eris started calling him "Rock".

*chuckles* Be quiet, Rock. Rocks are also very sturdy, and is a common nickname amongst wrestlers. That is perfect for you, seeing as you're the definition of manliness. ;) "

I am flattered, Jo. :D I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yup, still need to continue it. I was thinking of starting my fanfic afresh, but I dunno. I think that bit I wrote was just fine.
Oh, and I'd just like to appreciate that for some reason all of my titles (including my personalized Goodreads address) shows up in replies now. :D
And Rock was a perfect nickname! I don't see what all Ethan's fuss was about. *pout*

Yes, but it was my question that prompted you to say that you were the headphones and he was the rock -- Johanna ღ♣✽Hobbit & Proud✽♣ღ wrote: "Question: Which one's the rock, and which one's the headphone?

I suppose. Though it seemed obvious I was the headphones. To me, leastways:D

But alas, Elevethan couldn't be stopped, despite the protestations of the Headphones and the Rock...
