It's actually not a stand-alone book. It's the first of a trilogy. Anyway, I loved it. I liked that it wasn't just another run-of-the-mill sci-fi book, maybe the concept isn't completely new, but I thought it sounded new. Yep, I say go for it! Happy reading!

i felt the same way... sadly i bought the whole series so i was forced to read them (to get my money's worth) but they were so damn stupid! i had to put it into my "junk" shelf... serioulsy it sucked ass.

I liked the book so I think you should read it.
It's rather unique and I love the concept. Yes sometimes it can be slow.
Like the first book was slow and I had to force myself to read some bits but then I realized what she was doing I was surprised.
The second book gets a lot better and there is a lot of character development
and I haven't read the third yet but I've heard it's super awesome as well.

Anyway, I need to finish the 3rd book ! Maybe you're right (hope not ^^)

I hope you'll like it :)

I really liked all of the books :) so I hope you read it even with all of the mixed reviews.
