Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) Usually I'm an avid reader, reading 2 or more books in a month's time.
The past months however, I somehow got stuck and therefore I want to challange myself to read at least 12 books this year.

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) The first book is "De onvoorziene" by Thomas Olde Heuvelt, currently reading it.

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) I have read a few books since my last post. I finished "De onvoorziene". After that I read "De Brug" by Geert Mak, "Afgunst" by Saskia Noort, "Het koningsboek" by Arnaldur Indridason.
So, I'm quite on schedule, it is month 4, 4 books read. (Although I find I cheated a bit: there were 2 thin ones.)
I'm now reading a book by Elizabeth Gilbert "Eten, bidden, beminnen" and one by Henning Mankell: "Italiaanse schoenen".

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) Read: nr. 5 "De wereldverzamelaar" by Ilija Trojanow

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) Read nr. 6: "Kinshu. Autumn brocade" by Teru Miyamoto

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) Read nr. 7 "Mannen die vrouwen haten" by Stieg Larsson, definitely a WOW!

read nr. 8 "Dovemansoren" by R. Ferdinandusse. No book I'd read again.

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) Read nr. 9 "If I were a grown-up" by Eva Janikovszky.

Great book, picture-book with lovely pictures. Made me look through children's eyes again and see that I do indeed say a lot of "Go wash your hands!" etc. etc. I laughed a lot and that is nice for a change :-)

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) The ones I mentioned above are finished now.

Number 10 is:
"Eten, bidden, beminnen / Eat, pray, love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. Loved that book. Especially the second and third part of the book. These were the more recognizable ones for me. Could recommend it.

Number 11 is
"Italiaanse schoenen / Italian shoes" by Henning Mankell. Very impressive book, like the most I read by his hand. Not a detective, but more a novel about family, family relations, remorse, life. Liked it very much.

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) Number 12 is:
"Kijk niet achterom / Se deg ikke tillbake!" by Karin Fossum. Norwegian author, who wrote a very good thriller in my opinion. Unexpected twist at the beginning of the book, that she returned to, very naturally at the very last pages. It gave me the shivers, reading that.
All that was in between was surely worth reading as well :-)

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) Looks like I completed my challenge half way this year already. So, maybe I should add another twelve books for the remaining 6 months of 2009.
