Vincent (vpbrancato) INteresting story plot.
\Well written but really a "girl's/womnan's" book from my view - interesting characters but not as consistenent as they might have been. INteresting 21st century plot.

The settings............

Found them good and interesting - I have probably been a dozen or more times to Luxembourg and between 50 & 100 times to Paris - made me a bit homesick and noted much of what I missed while there (more in Luxembourg) - Ionce thought I would never be a year wihtout a visit to Paris - now it has been about eight years...........
The story was too smooth in the end.

That's an interesting thought. Since I am a girl I hadn't thought about the book being a "girl" book0--especially since it was written by a man.

Leigh | 6291 comments I am about 70 pages in and thus far the constant jumping in time is starting to get on my nerves. I think it would be better if the chapters were laid out a bit differently.

S.W. Hubbard The time jumps are definitely confusing, especially since some are clearly indicated by a change in typeface while others are not. I'm not done yet. It's intriguing enough for me to keep reading, but I don't find the characters very engaging--they all seem sort of "distant."

Yes! I finished that last night. In the hands of a better writer this would have been much better. I didn't care about any of the characters--I didn't find them engaging.

Jamie I read The Expats a few months ago and enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it was excellent, but it kept my attention and I finished it pretty quick. I did find it a bit frustrating at first how it skipped around, but half-way in it started to make sense.

Elena | 9 comments I agree that the jumping was a bit much. But it still held my interest and had enough surprises to keep me interested!

Leigh | 6291 comments Solid first effort. I hope his next is better.
