The "too much sex" is typically a personal preference. The idea is a little strange when you don't get many comments about "too much violence" or "too graphic violence". I'm partial to more graphic sex than violence myself. Sign of our times I guess.

IMO,the sex has to fit into the story, graphic or not. Gratuitous sex isn't necessary for me to like a book, but often times the sex can assist in illustrating how characters connect if done right.

I have issues with the bed-hopping in PNR. The obvious reason being the genre is Paranormal ROMANCE. It is just not romantic having a man or woman having semi-emotional relationships with multiple people. There is an entirely separate genre for those books, which I read, but calling them any form of romance book is a fallacy by my standards.

I recently read a series where the heroine first cheated on her human boyfriend for the leading man, than later in the series cheated on her boyfriend with another man. And the man stuck around and still wanted her desperately. Needless to say, I detested the leading lady and found the men to be lacking in appeal for their choices too. Adultery is the insurmountable obstacle authors use for conflict, but, as a reader, can't overcome the issue in it's resolution either. Usually if I know in advance there is a cheating story line, I will steer clear of the book all together.
