Radus | 4 comments In my language many of the original books are divided into 2 volumes with the same ISBN for both on the 4th cover, but strange, have the second ISBN by volume. For example this one http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17... have 2 volumes in romanian language. You can see the picture of the back cover here: [IMG]http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss...
I added those books as one, used the cover for the first volume and combine with the Ilium series. It was right or should I made new serie as the italian series http://www.goodreads.com/series/53846... ?
In my oppinion we should have an option in settings to add volumes and covers for that volumes.

Sandra | 31584 comments Radus, all volumes should be added as separate books. If the second volume doesn't have a separate ISBN that's OK.

For the book in your first example, it was already in the database when you added it, so you should have just added the ISBN & your better cover to the existing book. Now one will need to be deleted.

Sorry but photobucket won't let me see your link.

As to the Romanian series: is it split the same way as the Italian series? If it is, you just combine the Romanian books with the Italian books. If it is split differently, you can create a new series.

Assuming they were sold individually. Sometimes they are sold by the publisher only as multi-volume sets, and then the set should be listed as a single item, and the volumes should not be listed individually. One of the volumes lacking an ISBN hints that might have been the case here.

In the case mentioned by Radus the books ar sold as a multi-volume set. In this case should we count the pages? And where should we mention that the book is split in 2 volumes?

I have seen similar cases in Alexandre Duma's and Karl May's books.

Yes, page count can be the total of the volumes. "2-volume set" can go in the edition spot.

Sandra | 31584 comments OK, didn't think of them being sold together. Was just thinking of the books being split as in the other thread.
