Now, see, this is what I was talking about when I said I'm always behind...I haven't even started this one yet. :("

Well, I finally finished our "buddy read" and I agree that there wasn't much relationship development - and while the sex was hot, I actually got to the point where I was thinking "again? really???" about all of the almost public, could get caught anytime sex, especially when such a big deal was made about how it could ruin her career if they were caught together. I still liked the book though, and definitely plan on reading the next book in the series. Thanks for reading it with me, even if we didn't manage to read it together this time! :)

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Finally got around to reading Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. James . This is my second PIFM book of the month. Thanks for the push to scratch this one off my list.

~KarenH~ I totally agree with you! What about the big "secret". I really felt like that was blown out of proportion as well. This one definitely wasn't as good as the first. I read book three already (it's what prompted me to read book one) and I think you'll like that better than this one. I may end up reading it again now that I've read the first two and see if it changes my opinion of the book.

I agree that the secret was blown out of proportion, especially since (view spoiler), but I can understand why they felt the need to hide it at first, and how something like that can get harder and harder to talk about as time goes on. It does seem like he could have done a lot more good by coming clean and telling his story on his own once his career was established, rather than waiting until the issue was forced.

I'm glad to hear you liked the last book, I'm looking forward to it!

message 609: by Juliet (new)

Juliet (yiinochi) Just finished my first book Ruined by Moonlight (Whispers of Scandal, #1) by Emma Wildes and sadly I didn't enjoy it. The book is quite badly written with bad editing. I will be reading Always the Baker, Never the Bride (Emma Rae Creations, #1) by Sandra D. Bricker as my second book from the pick.

Ruth Ann (ruthannsantiago) | 172 comments I finally was able to finish my first book Wallbanger. Wallbanger by Alice Clayton

message 611: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31593 comments I finished another book from the wonderful picks Sassafrass made! This time I read Sweet Addiction. I liked it, but I didn't love it. I think it was the heroine, she was crying through the whole dang book! Either way, I am really glad I finally read it - thanks for the motivation!

message 612: by Daffodil (last edited Feb 14, 2013 01:57PM) (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Elizabeth I finished my third pick Tuesday. Sweet Talk (Bakery Sisters, #1) by Susan Mallery was a fun read and I liked Claire as a character. I could even understand Nicole's behavior. I ended up giving it only 3.5 stars because their treatment of Jesse drove me crazy. Claire has been on the receiving end of Nicole's judgement and she still didn't listen to Jesse. (view spoiler) Despite this, I enjoyed it and will be reading more in this series.

I already started in on my 4th pick. A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole

message 613: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 13 comments I just finished my third pick, Under the Never Sky. It took me a whole to get into, however by the end it was hard to put down. I don't know if I will read the second book in the series. It was just an ok book. I think the idea of what type of world they lived in was a bit to far fetched for me. Any way on to the next book.. Maybe a buddy read for this one!!

message 614: by Erin (new)

Erin (erin-b) I finally had a chance to read my first pick, Virgin River (Virgin River, #1) by Robyn Carr , and I really liked it. Thanks for the recommendation Suzanne! I don't know if I'll get to any of the others on my list this month, but this one was great.

I finished A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole . I bought the first 6 books a while back from the Wally World sale bins; I just needed a push to start this series.

message 618: by Breann (last edited Feb 15, 2013 03:47PM) (new)

Breann | 398 comments Sandy, I finished my third pick The Seduction of Elliot McBride and it was a great continuation of the series. I always enjoy Jennifer Ashley.

I'm still listening to my fourth (I think this is the most I've read for a PIFM :)) book Outlander and... WOW! It is SO good, I find myself sitting in the car in the parking lot at work not wanting to get out! I say this now because I'm about a third of the way through and I don't think I'll be done before March. But I can tell it's probably going to be a 5 star read. Jamie is ADORBZ!

Thanks for the GREAT picks my fellow Raccoon! ;)

message 619: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments finished my 4th and 5the PIFM: Star Crossed (Battered Hearts, #2) by Kele Moon and Anew (The Archers of Avalon, #1) by Chelsea Fine

I heart Kele Moon and can't wait for the 3rd book. I've been obsessed with MMA lately, so thanks for the push, Katie!
Anew has a great premise and, even though it wasn't perfect, I still have the next one on my TBR. :)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Elizabeth

I finished Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #4) by J.R. Ward . All the miscommunications between Marissa & Butch were more annoying than anything else, but I kept reading to find out how events at the beginning were going to affect Butch. Definitely enjoyed the plot more than the romance on this one, but it was still a good read.

message 630: by Sassafrass (new)

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments ok ~KarenH~

Here's what I've read so far:
Tart (Delicious, #2) by Lauren Dane --so yummy! PUN definitely intended. LOL I'm really enjoying this series. Plus even better, I've got an ARC for the 3rd book in the series, so I'm going to be reading that soon. :)

Jealous And Freakn' (Freakn' Shifters, #2) by Eve Langlais --such a cute story. I love when unrequited love is finally realized. But it also has menage in it when makes the story even better. I know you said that you wanted to read this series, and I really think you should. Eve Langlais knows how to blend the erotic with the perfect amount of snark. I love laughing with my smexy books.

One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake --OMG, what a great recommendation. I totally fell in love with Mick. You were so right, he was definitely a misunderstood bad boy. I was very surprised at how good (not to mention STEAMY) this was. I'm definitely going to continue with this series. Thanks again for this rec!

Down to You (The Bad Boys, #1) by M. Leighton --Not sure how I feel about this one. While I thought the concept was hot, the execution didn't do it for me that much. I just couldn't related to heroine not knowing who she had in her bed. But it was super hot. So, as I saw I'm mixed on that one. But, you know, I'm still going to continue with that series.

Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison --another rec that was right on! I loved this. How great was Pia at handling Dragos. Such a great series, I just fell into it. Thanks for the great rec. And even though I need another series like I need a hole in my head, I'm going to continue with this one. I won't be able to stay away!

Fix You (Second Chances, #1) by Mari Carr --great buddy read. I really did enjoy this one. It was such a sweet friends to lovers story

Game for Seduction (Bad Boys of Football, #2) by Bella Andre --I didn't like this one as much as I liked the first book. Dom's secret was the big shocker I was expecting, and I didn't see much relationship development beyond them having LOTS of hot sex.

The Locker Room by Amy Lane --sweet story. I really loved these two. I loved how they were just meant to be right from the get go. No needing to explore other things, or being too young. They.were.it. I really love Amy Lane, so I'm glad I read this one.

Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno #1) by Sylvain Reynard --I am currently listening to this one. I hope I finish before the end of the month, but it's a long audiobook (20.5 hours) so it's taking me a while. So far it's ok.

I am hoping to have enough time to read P.S.I Love You before the end of the month if I can, also.

I would have listened to it, but I'm not making a lot of progress in audiobooks these days and there was another book I wanted to listen to more. Yeah, I've managed about 15 minutes of that one... I'm actually looking forward to physical therapy (or at least getting out of the house!) so I can get back to listening more! Soon...
