Well, I finally finished our "buddy read" and I agree that there wasn't much relationship development - and while the sex was hot, I actually got to the point where I was thinking "again? really???" about all of the almost public, could get caught anytime sex, especially when such a big deal was made about how it could ruin her career if they were caught together. I still liked the book though, and definitely plan on reading the next book in the series. Thanks for reading it with me, even if we didn't manage to read it together this time! :)

~KarenH~ I totally agree with you! What about the big "secret". I really felt like that was blown out of proportion as well. This one definitely wasn't as good as the first. I read book three already (it's what prompted me to read book one) and I think you'll like that better than this one. I may end up reading it again now that I've read the first two and see if it changes my opinion of the book.

I agree that the secret was blown out of proportion, especially since (view spoiler)[nobody was killed or even permanently injured (hide spoiler)], but I can understand why they felt the need to hide it at first, and how something like that can get harder and harder to talk about as time goes on. It does seem like he could have done a lot more good by coming clean and telling his story on his own once his career was established, rather than waiting until the issue was forced.

I finished another book from the wonderful picks Sassafrass made! This time I read Sweet Addiction. I liked it, but I didn't love it. I think it was the heroine, she was crying through the whole dang book! Either way, I am really glad I finally read it - thanks for the motivation!

Elizabeth I finished my third pick Tuesday. was a fun read and I liked Claire as a character. I could even understand Nicole's behavior. I ended up giving it only 3.5 stars because their treatment of Jesse drove me crazy. Claire has been on the receiving end of Nicole's judgement and she still didn't listen to Jesse. (view spoiler)[The subtext on pg 186 tells me that Drew took advantage in some way. "I didn't know what to do. Drew was there and then he was touching me. I don't know. Maybe I deserved it." The first question out of my mouth would have been: "Did he force himself on you?" Instead Claire slots this in with Nicole's accusations and jumps to her own conclusions about what Jesse means by "deserves". We don't know exactly what happened because Jesse never says. But, from other various snippets, I'm thinking Nicole and Claire are wrong in their assumptions. Plus, if my math is right, Jesse is around 19 and Drew 25. Even if what they think happened did, with that age difference, I would still ask if she was pressured in any way before automatically starting in on the accusations. (hide spoiler)] Despite this, I enjoyed it and will be reading more in this series.

I just finished my third pick, Under the Never Sky. It took me a whole to get into, however by the end it was hard to put down. I don't know if I will read the second book in the series. It was just an ok book. I think the idea of what type of world they lived in was a bit to far fetched for me. Any way on to the next book.. Maybe a buddy read for this one!!

Sandy, I finished my third pick The Seduction of Elliot McBride and it was a great continuation of the series. I always enjoy Jennifer Ashley.

I'm still listening to my fourth (I think this is the most I've read for a PIFM :)) book Outlander and... WOW! It is SO good, I find myself sitting in the car in the parking lot at work not wanting to get out! I say this now because I'm about a third of the way through and I don't think I'll be done before March. But I can tell it's probably going to be a 5 star read. Jamie is ADORBZ!

I finished . All the miscommunications between Marissa & Butch were more annoying than anything else, but I kept reading to find out how events at the beginning were going to affect Butch. Definitely enjoyed the plot more than the romance on this one, but it was still a good read.

--such a cute story. I love when unrequited love is finally realized. But it also has menage in it when makes the story even better. I know you said that you wanted to read this series, and I really think you should. Eve Langlais knows how to blend the erotic with the perfect amount of snark. I love laughing with my smexy books.

--OMG, what a great recommendation. I totally fell in love with Mick. You were so right, he was definitely a misunderstood bad boy. I was very surprised at how good (not to mention STEAMY) this was. I'm definitely going to continue with this series. Thanks again for this rec!

--Not sure how I feel about this one. While I thought the concept was hot, the execution didn't do it for me that much. I just couldn't related to heroine not knowing who she had in her bed. But it was super hot. So, as I saw I'm mixed on that one. But, you know, I'm still going to continue with that series.

I would have listened to it, but I'm not making a lot of progress in audiobooks these days and there was another book I wanted to listen to more. Yeah, I've managed about 15 minutes of that one... I'm actually looking forward to physical therapy (or at least getting out of the house!) so I can get back to listening more! Soon...
