I'm too busy writing to create a trailer and want to start a contest for "best trailer" for my novel
. I'm looking for suggestions on how to start and how to engage goodreads readers who want to let loose their creative talents.Judith Sanders

Hi JudithMy short youtube book promo tried to engage kindle owners and give them a giggle, while informing them that my book was available. It's a different approach to a 'trailer', but it might be something worth cnsidering. I made it with my iPhone. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b1c3m...
Good luck!
Here's mine, I went *cute* teddy bears for a subject matter of murder & extortion! http://youtu.be/N1-eTq2Xdn0 YouTube likes the cute, the kitsch and the fluffy remember!
Nice one Marc! That blood looked real...but at least I could say that "no kindles were hurt in the making of mine"!!! (Poor teddy...)

I recommend my pal Bo Kirgis. He did our book trailer and we've had nothing but compliments. Contact info is at the site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1l9Cw...
Just wondering if you all feel that having a video or trailer of your book has made a difference. Do you feel it is something that's affected sales at all?
Hi Katie, I doubt mine had a direct impact on sales, but it certainly had an indirect impact, drawing traffic to my twitter/FB feeds, making people aware of me as an author. And the humorous nature of the short wld inform them as to the likely tone of my book. Also, because my short is called. 'You Can't Press Flowers with a Kindle' I'd expect it to be noticed by people with kindles i.e. my target market. Sx

No. You Tube is not really an audience for literature. I blogged on it if you're interested for the Novel Publicity website http://www.novelpublicity.com/2011/10...
