What genres have you read so far, and what genres do you prefer? Fantasy or love stories, for instance?
I'm all over the board - I love most genres with the exception of horror, I guess.
To be honest, I am what some would call "new" to reading. I read the required books in high school and university, and read maybe a handful more throughout my life. I have only just started my journey into reading, by making my New Years resolution to read 50-100 books!
So far, my favorite genres seem to be crime (psychological thrillers), paranormal (angels, demons, etc.), and supernatural (time travel, alien, etc.) I have never been one for chick lit (romance, erotica) and doubt I ever will be. I like being on the edge of my seat, so to speak. I also love feeling like my mind as been turned inside out after finishing a novel. I like to lay there and wonder "what the heck just happened?" and mull it over for days and days.

I am new here and joined mainly because you mentioned being "new" to reading. I am not new and was a bookworm when I was younger but I basically became a non reader when I had children lol. I didn't have the time. Now, I am trying to get back into reading (I finally got a ipad so I can take books anywhere lol) and thought it would be great to see and share suggestions.
I haven't read fallen yet though I put it on my want to read list. I am not much into romance or erotica either but I LOVE horror and most other genres.
I was completely intertwined in this story, I felt like I was there, a part of it all. Lauren Kate took REAL myths and legends and turned them into a time travelling, angel loving, love story. There is nothing about this series that I dislike.
I am curious, why did some of you love it? More curiously, why did you hate it?
