supermarkets in my dreams

Ha! Unfortunately no. I'm just procrastinating on working on a project I need to do for work.

I've gotten turned around there, too. I used to get lost when I first moved to Pittsburgh, about __ years ago. The locals had a habit of taking down street signs and highway markers, just to mess with people from somewhere else. I remember one evening when I went through the same tunnel about 6 times.
I get lost in DC just about every time I go there. The layout of streets makes no sense whatsoever.
Call me when you get lost in DC. I know my way around.
I can't remember ever getting lost in a city. I have a good sense of direction. People must sense this about me because I am always getting stopped and asked for directions. Always. If there are 50 people on the sidewalk, the tourist will find me and ask how to get somewhere.

I thought I had told you...I wrote it in the third stall of the bathroom of the Cheesecake Factory near your house.

The roads around Darling Harbour.

I hope to never have to go to either city again.

That only place that works for me is Chicago. I love a grid! The cities with twisty one way streets are what do me in.
During urban renewal in Chicago in the 60s they made some streets one way, and dead ended others, to keep poor black people out of some neighborhoods.
We also have the situation where some roads dead end into the Chicago River, and these tend to be in areas where there is a lot of nightlife and bars, so people get drunk and lost and drive into the river. There are cases of people who went missing and no one knew WTF happened to them until their cars were accidentally discovered in the river months or years later.
This happens sometimes in the lake, too, but less often.

Also the river is not very wide, so people see the street lights and building lights on the other side of the river and assume the street continues, and if they just keep driving, they will get to that building....no.
