Amarie walked in with her sword at ready.
Amarie turned to the other person and said "umm... standing."
Amarie watched her sword "so what are doing here?"
"Fun...." she looked around bored
"sorry it does sound boring!" Amarie started to walk towards the other side of the border slowly.
"do what?" Amarie asked sounding insentient.
Asher crossed over slowly and cautiously. Her eyes brightened at the sight. It was almost as if she was transported to a different world entirely. Small brooks ran throughout the grassy field, which had flowers scattered all around it. Butterflies were fluttering through the air, and in the distance Asher could spot a herd of deer sprinting through the field.
"Oh, Jadran, I wish you could see this." She said in awe.
"Oh, Jadran, I wish you could see this." She said in awe.
Jadran came to stand beside her, smiling, thought not terribly sad. "I don't need to see it. I can feel it and smell it in the air that we are no longer in Delven Shadow," he said, a brightness coming to his face. His skin glowed more healthily than in Delven's Shadows wane light.
Asher closed her eyes herself, and could also feel the massive presence of a more peaceful place, though hardly as well as Jadran could.
Once she opened them, she felt another wave of happiness fall over her. "Perhaps we should rest here for the day, just so we can recuperate." She said in a slightly smug matter. Blu was already inhaling all the grass on the ground, and Falom was rolling in a dirt patch like a pup.

Rolling his shoulders, Jadran nodded. "I think it would be best to enjoy this freedom right now. You never know when you get into a trouble."
Asher nodded. "I'll set up the sleeping bags and get a fire going, so we can have a nice late lunch." She said, reaching for the pack.
She unrolled the sheets with ease, setting up two little clumps of them with a few pillows. After taking ten minutes to collect firewood, she quickly got a flame running.

"All right," he said. Feeling useless, but with nothing else to do, Jadran sat down in the grass, enjoying the warm sunlight. He kept his walking stick across his legs and looked as if he was meditating, which was from what he felt. His thoughts whirled at how close he was and yet how changed he was.
She took off the large empty pack from Blu, undoing the girth. Blu looked rather thankful for this, and resumed her grazing.
Falom, however, was long gone. But in the distance you could spot his black shape and gleaming red eyes hiding in a patch of grass as he stalked some of the deer.

((Now what?))
After a moment, Jadran sighed and laid back, stretching out. If he could see, he would be looking at the wide open blue sky, surprisingly free from any clouds. His red hair stood out in comparison to the grass surrounding him and it looked almost boyish to see him surrounded by so many flowers.

((We can have it turn to night, I suppose. Perhaps they have some trouble with animals? And then hurriedly get to the main town?))
((Yeah, that's good.))
It was now late into the night; the sun had set hours ago. Now in a fairly risk-free environment, Asher has decided it was fine to keep a fire going, as she knew loads of people traveled in and out this way.
The place seemed far more alive than the dank forest, in a far more appealing way, too. Owls and wolves could be heard, Falom often responding.

((What animals should they come across?))
Jadran was now sitting by the fire, feeling the warmth from the flames spread from his face down to his chest and arms. Cocking his head as he listened to the owls and wolves, he asked Asher, "Do you think Falom's wolf pack is out there somewhere?"

Asher shrugged lightly. "I never knew where he came from. He could have been born in Delven Star for all I know." She said, looking at the handsome wolf who was gazing into the distance. "You would think he would miss it, but he's never left my side. I think he likes being with humans." She smiled lightly. "My dad used to say when he howls to the others, he's bragging about how he gets to go on adventures with a human, and how he has a special bond with one."
It sure seemed that way, as Falom was now on his feet and prancing, his head thrown up into the air in a rather aggressive howl. His red eyes sparked, and he seemed to be smiling.

((Um, not sure. Maybe a pack of those giant wolves? Not the normal ones, the huge ones elves ride))
He smiled, hearing Falom's howls. "Indeed, I think your dad is right. It sounds like he is bragging," Jadran commented, dragging a stick around in the dirt.
((Perhaps. Are they hostile to elves though? Or! *lightbulb* Maybe it's a pack of those giant wolves with elves on them (a patrol?) and they have to hide away from them so they run to town.))
((Cullassel, that's the name. And yeah, they seem pretty friendly. So yes, let's go with your idea.))
Asher smiled. She liked knowing that her wolf loved her. She remembered that right after her parents died, she would often think of Falom dying, and it would bring her to tears. But her father said he was enchanted, and would live until he wanted to die, or if he was killed by force. She didn't really believe him, but she pretended she did.
"Did you ever have a pet growing up?" She asked Jadran, looking up.

((Okeydokey. ^_^))
Jadran nodded, turning his face towards her general direction. "I did. I had a horse named Dax. I helped him since he was born. And a puppy named Hanna."

"What happened to them?" She lifted herself upwards, leaning on her elbows. "Are they still at home?" She liked the idea of a reunion of animal and master. Granted, she only saw one once, with an old and rather evil man in Delven Shadow, who found his lost dog ten years after she ran away. Sure, he may have been accountable for dozens of horribly brutal and painful deaths, but Asher's heart had just swelled when she saw him crying and hugging the old dog. She was a bit of a softie on the inside.
"I should find them before we do any confronting, so you can see them before anything might go wrong." She offered.

Jadran smiled his thanks at the offer. "Dax has passed already. That was the one piece of news my mother sent to me while at Delven Shadow. But Hanna is still alive. She is probably old now, but I think she's fine," he replied.
Her voice went into a softer tone. "Does your mother still believe you're innocent? Or does she believe you're the killer wholeheartedly?" Asher asked, her violet eyes turning towards the ground, plucking up a few blades of grass.
He shrugged, feigning nonchalance, facing away. "I don't know honestly. I think she fully believes that I was the killer, but she's more disappointed than horrified or hateful towards me," Jadran answered.
Asher opened up her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Falom's sharp barks. His hackles were raised in a defensive manner, his bright white canines gleaming in the darkness.
The girl stood up instinctively, whipping out her bow in a matter of seconds. She squinted into the distance, noticing bright lights coming at them. Lanterns...
Deep-throated barks could also be heard. More menacing and lower toned than Falom's. The ground seemed to shake.
"We have to hide. Quickly." She said, dumping a bucket of water hastily onto the fire, and throwing all of the bedding into a bush. She grabbed Blu's halter in one hand and Jadran's in the other, sprinting towards a large rock.

With his free hand, Jadran gripped his walking stick tightly, ready in case they needed to fight. Letting Asher guide him, he tried to discern the barks coming closer. "I think it's Cullassel patrol," he whispered.
"Obviously." She said in a slightly snappy tone. Asher was never known as the nicest person, and her relationship with Jadran was a rare one, along with Falom and Blu. But in a dangerous position she couldn't exactly handle a blind-man's brilliant deductions at the moment. She pushed him behind the rock lightly, and moved Blu beside her, arm around her thick neck, preventing the mule from moving.
Jadran managed to go into a crouch, not bothering to get offended at her roughness. He felt slightly angry at himself, though, but decided to push those thoughts aside. Listening to the patrol, he asked Asher, "What do you see?"
((Okay, officially I gtg eat something!))

((See ya!))
Having calmed herself down since becoming completely hidden, she dared to take a peek. "Five or so elves on patrol. I think they're armed. They might be hunting or something." She squinted her eyes again. "Scratch that. Heavily armed in both weapons and armor. They don't look very nice, Jadran...." She didn't expect them to, but they looked too offensively ready that she was slightly suspicious of their reasoning for being out at night.

Frowning, Jadran said quietly, "Perhaps criminal activity has gone up while I've been banished. But I know for certain patrols weren't like this before."
She shook her head slowly. "That can't be it, can it? I mean there's five of them. Even if they were in Shadow, that's more than enough people to fend off some bad guys. Not to mention their weapons." She blinked slowly, holding her breath as they charged past the rock, the boulder vibrating from the small stampede. "Whatever. They're gone now. But we should get going in case they come back. We can work our way into some shelter."
With a nod, Jadran slowly rose. Still with his back pressed to the rock, he listened and brought his walking stick up into a fighting stance. "Let's go then," he said.
((Omigosh I had no idea you posted! Ugh I feel horrible! Yeah, let's move to the main town now!))
