Sarah I don't know about all of you Lena and Ethan fans but I was hoping for a better ending. Sure Ethan gets back to the world of the living, but Amma dies. She was his support, his other mother when his mother died. It's just wrong that she's gone too. Also I thought it would have been nice to see how everything went from then on when he got back, like and epiloge to the future since this is the last book in the series. But that's just me. I'm the type of girl who likes the end of the series to be a happy one. If one of the books in the series that wasn't an ending book I would have been okay with it but Beautiful Redemption is an ending book, so I want it to have a very happy ending. What do you all think?

Meagan Wayne I agree with you. Whenever something epic happens in a book when the main characters are appart I always wonder, "Why doesn't the author have them tell each other what happened to them?" I mean Ethan died!!! I don't know about you but I'd do something with the knowledge of having died and comming back to life. I wouldn't just keep it tom myself because it's to hard for me to talk about. That seems like a cheesey short cut to me.

Rose I'm big on endings too. They make or break books for me. I don't mind if the ending is a little sad but I really want the ending of a book to make sense and not just be an easy ending. I almost got the sense that the authors wanted to end at book 3 with his death but had to write the 4th. So many things were just forced and it wasn't like their writing style. I'm surprised that there isn't more consequence other than that he is back and Amma is gone. For me this book ended the series on a low note (I was disappointed in the whole book) but I still love the series. I just didn`t feel satisfied with the ending.

Yvonne I thought it was a little forced too. I loved the other books, but I didn't like this one as much. I felt like I was reading it just to see how it ended, and I hate reading books for that reason.

I'm also not loving the trailers for the movie. I know I will go see it, but trailers don't capture the story like it is in my head. I suspect I will be disappointed, and wonder why I did that to myself! :-)

Adelma I actually liked the ending. For me, there is more adventure on this one than the previous ones. Plus, Amma's death was coming since she made a deal with the bokur (idk how to spell that).

For the movie... I mainly want to see it because Emmy Rossum is playing Ridley and I LOOOVEEE her!

I agree. I want to go see it just to see it because it is one of my favorite books i've read and i read alot of books. I am not loving the character much for ethan the most though. He's to short for the part and looks much too old. Same with ridley(plus ridely was blonde with pink stripes in her hair)

Ralinda Aspey I liked the way that it ended; it created a symmetry to the entire series that, otherwise, would have left everything lopsided and just a little too perfect. The fact that Amma died countered Ethan's death from the first book and closed the cycle of events, allowing the characters to grieve and move on in a 'normal' fashion.
And the lack of an epilogue, in my opinion, allows the reader to imagine his/her own happy ending which is so much better.

Leslie I liked the ending although I cried A LOT. I do see where you're coming from wanting to see how things carry on after. I read all the books pretty close together and I felt like so much had happened to these kids in such a relativly short time that it would be hard to have a "normal" life after. I would have liked to know about the transition. That being said I really loved these books and when I get like that I would rather nothing end and the story go on for 100 more books but sometimes it's better to stop ahead before you ruin something great!

Reilly i loved all the books, so much. but really man that ending was like one of those tv show cliff hangers, and then they cancel the show before you see what happens next. i mean what happened the the rest of the bad keepers in the far keep, and the people who were tested on there. what happened with lena, link, Ethan, and rid. did link and her go off together. and why did no body go nuts when he was back, ask any questions, and i dont wanna guess what happened between lena and ethan. IM ABOUT READY TO WRITE BOOK 5 MYSELF!!!!!

I know, I was hoping they would write an epilog..that would have been nice. To see where things ended up...whether Ridley and Link were truly going to be together..what about Ethan's dad? What are they going to do without Amma? What the heck?

Please..I would love if you wrote a fifth book. I would read it, then buy it, and read it again. And again. I mean, I don't even need a long book. Just an epilog or short story about how things officially ended up. You know?

aron First off, I am devastated.
I still am unwilling to accept that this is the finale. No more :(
It seriously breaks my heart. This was by far one of my favourite series 123398049234%

Okay so, I agree that the ending was not all that I expected.
I am a little disappointed, but every author ends their stories with what they have envisioned, and who is to tell them what they have done is not right.
I respect every ending to every story regardless if I agree with it or not.
These books were written exceptionally well, and I cannot wait to see the film!
Unfortunately, I have to wait until Monday for that! :(

Perenelle I was sad that the book ended, but I really did love Beautiful Redemption and its ending. Its not like Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl decided to just end it with Ethan dying and nothing else. Though I wish they elaborated more on Ethan's journey back to the living, I still loved this book as much as the others. I cannot wait to see the movie! Too bad Im watching it nezxt Saturday :C But really, I thought it was nice how the book ended. Yes, it was sad how Amma passed, but I still think that the ending wasnt horrible. Not like some other books I've read. And the authors wrapped it up pretty well, and with the 'HERE ENDETH THE CASTER CHRONICLES' (or something like that) it added a nice touch :)

Honestly, I thought this was the weakest book in the series. I loved the first three so much and like a lot of people have said on here, the last book felt too rushed and too forced. I also thought that Ethan's "struggle" to get back to Lena and the land of the living was too quick and unrealistic...like it was too easy-everything in a way went easy for him (I mean, his journey and the tasks he has to do) and then he was back. I would have liked to have seen some more angst etc. Also, when Ethan and Lena reunited, it was so frustratingly short! I was expecting some epic, heart-wrenching and romantic reunion and it was like, "they fell into each other's arms and cried.." or something along those lines and their love story was really important in all the books. Also, an epilogue would have been nice, too and whatever happened to Ridley and Link? I assume they didn't end up together but they still cared deeply for each other...Amma's death was great and really sad/beautifully written and I liked the beginning, how sad and angsty it was. Plus, I really liked there being Lena's POV as well and how Ethan was never supposed to die...

Overall, the series was brilliant but I felt it should've ended in the third book with maybe a couple extra chapters or a really long epilogue of when he comes back to her or something...

Madison The whole book was great. Ethan's true love for Lena showed in the book. At the end.. it's a little disappointing.. I loved Amma but its sad that she had to die, but im glad it wasnt Ethan. Ridley, Link... what happens to the love hate relationship they had...

Gabby I cried! How could Amma just DIE?!?! But the good things about the ending were that Lena and Liv come to a sort of, truce. And Ridley and Link were...together? I don't even know, they also seemed to come to an understanding. And the understanding was this: I'm attracted to you, your attracted to me, but we're really disfunctional. Aw, screw it, let's just date.
You know that's what they thinking.

Well said.

Luna Well, I finish it last night-to be honest I thought they were going to tell more what happen to them in the Future like how they ended Hunger Game series, but nothing can be like Hunger Games. I was bummed when Amma died, But Its the way it had to be Ethan and his Dad have to became independent which I thought was going to happen in Beautiful Chaos instead of Ethan jumping. Ridley & Link Finally Together! ( lets Keep it that way!) Ah and when John called Liv "Olivia" aww ( lame as it sounds its cute) I was kind of expecting something more about what happened to Link in Basement at nine years old, but it was funny, Ironic to me anyway.

I liked the Ending though, Romantic,(check) Moral,(check) beautiful (check!)

message 19: by Ray (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ray I finished the book last week and I just wanted to make sure I wasnt the only person feeling like it was rushed! As soon as I looked at the book I knew I wasn't going to be satisfied with the ending. I do not feel that the elimination of Abraham and Hunting should have been so easy. I was kind of waiting for them to pop up somewhere down the line. Ethan and Angelus is not believable at all which begs the question what happened to the other far keep members? why did they not take action? will some one replace Angelus. Did the Far keep start off as mortals too. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENS WITH JOHN AND LIV, RIDLEY AND LINK!!!! WHAT DID AMMAS CARD SAY??? UGH MY MIND IS GOING KRAZY..THE ENDING WAS CUTE, SAD BUT CUTE!!! WHERE DO MACONS POWERS COME FROM..WAY TOO SHORT FOR A FINAL BOOK

Jennifer I liked the ending, but i wonder what if Ethan's mom was alive again, would she be with Macon or Ethan's dad

message 21: by Ray (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ray I liked the ending too, I just needed more information! I expect the movies to leave me wanting more but not the books. Well that depends are we saying that Ethan's dad would know she was alive or would she be alive to those who are familiar with the caster life style

Jennifer No, Ethan's dad would only find out if Ethan's mom told him. But if she doesn't tell him then she could live in the tunnels with Macon. If she does tell him then she would still have to live in secret because she is supposed to be dead.

Marilyn I think the ending to this book was good. Although I am sad Amma had to leave, I know she isn't entirely gone, just like Ethan when he was in the other world. I think the ending was satisfying; it wasn't ruined. I was confused at first because in the third book, Ethan died, so I was like how is there supposed to be a fourth book?! But now I see, and I think it was a great concept. I wish I could have known about Link and Ridley though, their on and off relationship always kills me.

Clara I thought the ending was okay I felt they could have done way better I expected some I don't something to knock me off my socks or whatever it was just okay

Melanie I didn't mind the ending - I though Amma would succeed in trading her life Ethan's. What I didn't like is how little we got to see Ethan and Lena together. Once Ethan returned and Amma "died", the closing felt rushed. I wasn't looking for a fairy tale ending, and I didn't mind not having an epilogue of the future. But after all they went through to find their way back together, I wanted more than a hug on top of the water tower, and a few brief scenes mostly with other people. I wanted at least some time with them reconnecting and talking through what had happened and what the new order of things looked like.

Mattman I just finished reading it. Still emotional that Lean and Mr Wates story is over but that's for another day. The ending was fine. But that's it, fine. Sad in away with Amma and boring with how everything is finally perfect, but that's how a story should end right? (I don't read many books let alone a entire serious) But I what i liked is how Lena and Ethan can finally be together properly. What I loved is that the book made it feel like things are finally perfect for Ethan but also not perfect in a way because Amma, his mother and other family and friends who helped him are gone and he will have to continue this "perfect" life without them, which he now can because he has grown throughout the series.

Lisa Dahlquist I finished the series last night. I was not happy with the ending. I would have liked to know what impact the death of Angelus had on all worlds. What happened to Xavier. Who the parents of John Breed were, and were there any more living breeding experiments. What exactly the "New Order" is and how it affects all the beings in all worlds. What type of caster is Macon. What happened to Lucile Ball? I really loved the books, but was very disappointed with so many loose ends and unanswered questions in the last book.
