Adding a book to Goodreads

Hi Librarians, I hope you can help me add my book to the site. It's getting kind of 'duh' back here. Here are the details as advised.

Your book is here.

There's a sticking point re the cover image. I went to your website and saw that you are using Amazon's cover image for your book (complete with the "look inside" graphic add-ons). While I do not doubt for one second that the image belongs to you, GR cannot use anything that has come from Amazon.

Do you have an original copy of the image you would have submitted to Amazon? Can you either upload that to your website or to your GR profile here?

Also - I don't know if this is going to affect the book showing up on your profile or not, but GR policy is that all initials MUST have periods/full stops behind them. So your J.J. Alleson.

Actually, JJ may not be able to legally use that cover image on his site either. Unless he obtained specific permission from amazon. His bookcover minus the look-inside/kindle-logo he can. (It doesn't click at any rate which amazon likely required when giving him permission to use that image)

I didn't realise you'd be using that image; I thought I'd get to upload it myself after the author page was created. I'll get on adding it straight away. Thank you very much for your prompt response.

Debbie, I got the step by step information from Amazon's own site on how to add your book link directly. That was after seeing it on several other writers' sites. But as you pointed out - thanks - it doesn't work so I'll put my original image back. I have the carousel on my site anyway so it's not crucial.

I've changed the image on my site page. I'd be very grateful if you could amend me GR image or tell my how I can do it, if that's possible.

Better now? You have to be approved as a Goodreads author before you can edit your book's record. It takes a couple of business days to approve though, so in the meantime we librarians are always willing to help.
