Breaking Dawn

Unresolved Question

Ok so if you have read the books you know that Vampires and Werewolves smell unpleasant to each other. I have been wondering what Renesmee smells like to Jacob and vice versa. Renesmee is half vampire so does she have a diluted vampire smell?? Or since Jacob imprinted on her does she smell wonderful to him regardless of her being half vampire? And for Renesmee does she smell Jacob as a human or a vampire (i.e. does he smell like wet dog or not)?? If they smelled so repulsive to each other it is hard to imagine having a bond as strong as imprinting but on the other hand maybe because of their imprinting the smell is no longer bothersome. I have been curious about this and cannot find an answer for Stephenie anywhere...what do you guys think?

Well it's like your husbands' feet stink and he never puts down the toilet seat; but you love him.
I always just figured that the scent was diluted, since it's mixed with human scent.
As for Renesmee's senses, I figured her sense of smell is just not as keen as full fledged vampires, but either way, Jacob's scent has surrounded her since birth, it's something she could get used to and it wouldn't bother her.

that is very interesting. perhaps renesmee smells as good as bella did when she was human and it covers the vampire smell for jacob. i also wonder, just because jacob imprinted on her, does that mean renesmee is joined to him forever? i mean can she fall in love with someone else and jacob can remain her best friend? or would jacob kill that person to keep renesmee all to himself? what if it was another vampire? wonder???
because jacob imprinted on her, she will be with/love him for life
I don't think the smell of vampires is repulsive to the shapeshifters because it stinks, but because they are sworn enemies and it makes them react negatively.
Jacob won't react that way with Ren because he is imprinted on her and his emotions will overcome the prejudice.
As for whether she can love someone else, yes. Imprinting means he will be what she needs him to be and do that happily. If she needs only a protector/big brother, then Jacob will be that for Ren.

can't see why her smell is important in any way..this is meaningless
