Who is reading this trilogy along with us? I am excited, as I have been wanting to read this a long time-got through the first couple chapters and can say that I am definitely hooked!

Chris West (clwest28) | 5 comments I have already read it. It has a great story line, and the characters are well developed.

Tara, the pace does pick up soon. The first bit of the book was pretty slow.
My brother has read this series and read through the Black Prism, and thought this was had a better plot than Black Prism.

Kris43 | 9 comments I have already read the whole series. It is one of my all time favorites. I must say I envy you guys who are reading it for the first time, it is an amazing book.

Raivo Verk | 17 comments I've read the series as well and liked it. Definitely one my favourites for now.

Mike | 7 comments I am reading it and enjoying it so far. I think I am going to enjoy this series very much.

Roc (roc1138) | 3 comments I think I am. I'm doing my re-re-read of wheel of time (only on book 3)but think I can add this as well.

Helen | 1 comments I have to read Among Others but will then join in.

Laura Donkersley | 1 comments I have read this trilogy and I loved it. I thought the main character was very engaging and his mentor, Blint, keeps the mystery and intrigue alive throughout. The world is very in depth and the plot swept me along through all three books, so much so that I would finish one book and immediately pick up the next. A great read!

Jute | 1 comments I read this awhile ago, but I'm going to reread it. I really liked it when I first read it and it will be interesting to see if it holds up to my memory.

Tracey | 1 comments This was the first fantasy book I ever read, I've since read the whole series and been hooked on fantasy ever since. I haven't got time to re-read as currently reading the WoT 5, and LotR. I'm sure you will enjoy the trilogy very much : )

David Sven (gorro) | 123 comments Loved the Lighbringer series - so I think I'll join in with this one - Have to finish Esslemont's Blood and Bone First so maybe next week.

I will be buying this series first thing after getting off work on Friday Mags, I've been too broke to buy anything! I'm looking forward to reading a new series and have had many recommendations to read it! By then I'll be done with BaB! :)

I read BaB a bit ago...you will love it!

Kenneth Geary (KagedBooks) (kagedbooks) This whole series is great including perfect shadow.

I love the fact that there are multiple magic systems in play and the anti-hero aspect of the series

Helen | 1 comments Am I being daft, bab?

Suzanne | 212 comments I'm planning on reading the series - I just finished the Black Prism and really liked it, which made me more interested in this one. It will be fun seeing others' comments as we progress.

Lucinda | 38 comments This trilogy has sat on my "to read" bookshelf for a long time. I was thrilled when it was chosen this month.

I'm about a third of the way through the first book and I'm really enjoying it.

It only gets better from there!

Tricia (flaminglacer) | 1 comments A little clunky to start with but, as a number of you have said, the pace does pick up. The main characters are certainly engaging and I'm looking forward to my reading time tonight

BaB is short for Blood and Bone-a new book in the Malazan series we did a little while ago.

message 22: by Lisa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lisa | 10 comments I had to start this book a little early since my hold came in at the library before Christmas. I can't wait to discuss the book and look forward to reading the second in the series.

Ahh, I missed that series, perhaps after WOT. Ha, I'm using initials now, lol.

Daniel (dward526) Read the first book, and have been looking forward to reading the other 2. This is a perfect excuse for a reread/finish

lolol-welcome to GR!

Angela (asaciuk) | 5 comments Picked up the first book to read on Jan 13. It's now six days later and I'm well into the third book. Wow! I'm impressed.

Chris West (clwest28) | 5 comments He had an excellent way of progressing the story. I had the same outcome with the books. Its hard to put down when you get yourself sucked into the book and want to find out more.

Sadie | 1 comments I read this one a while ago but I really enjoyed. By the end, I was so engrossed in the plot twists that I couldn't stop reading and stayed up till probably 5am! (...not that weird for me since I work the night shift). I haven't read any more of this series though so I'm excited to read next in the lineup.

This is what I thought as well - I think a lot of that is we get a limited POV from a guild rat to start with so the world seems a lot smaller than it actually is. Then as we progress we pan out into a far more complex world. Enjoying it so far.

Shelley (shelley69) | 597 comments I'm about 480 pages into WoS, and during the weekend I read over 300 pages, I haven't done that since MBotF! All the politcal intrigue is page turning for sure!

Hey Mags, where's the folders to post comments in?

message 31: by Lee (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lee Bosward | 3 comments Hi I really enjoyed the first book. It was a fantastic page turner! I read it a while ago and was so excited to read the second book. I found that Brent Weeks appeared to rush the next to books in the series and while they were good they just didn't compare with this first one. It was definitely his crowning glory of the series :)
