The oldest one is planning to get married again Halloween 2018. She wants a fancy wedding, he doesn't. I'm with him. They've owned a house together for 6 years. Next year they'll be automatically married via common law, anyway. They should use the money to put solar cells on the house or pay down the mortgage - something useful. Oh well, their call.

After the daughter and son in law arrived and we were all getting organized I heard the doorbell and when I answered it the man who picks up our trash was standing there and asking me if the last suitcase on the drive was to go into the truck and when I screamed "NO" he took off as did the truck with my son in law's belongings/passport, ticket, camera..NO, he did have his passport in his pocket but no ticket and money so off we went in my car chasing the truck and when it stopped we tried going through the trash to no avail. We went back home in time for my husband to come and he couldn't believe the story. Well, we went to the airport and tried calling our travel agent to try and get another ticket but she was on half time and then as we are standing in line hoping she can get another ticket the man in front of me was so disturbed by our situation that he, being a pilot called and had the plane delayed and then our agent said to pay for a ticket to Chicago and she'd see if she could get the ticket to Greece sent there. This went on and on as my daughter and son in law had to leave the plane in the terminal to try and get the ticket and almost missed that plane taking off.
They never got the ticket to Greece so my son in law had to pay. He had in the meantime had to cancel his discover card. Never leave your bag on a driveway is the lesson we learned. But, a few months later our Kansas City Star travel section had a contest to see who had the worst travel horror story and guess who won.
When the editor called to tell me she had picked my story she said she hoped I wouldn't be insulted but they all laughed when they read my descriptions..I did get seventy five dollars/wouldn't cover the cost to go to Athens however.

Bad news for the poor killdeer. They're down to 2 eggs. I guess a snake has been snacking. The well isn't far away & Lily has been sniffing around the rocks around it a lot. She purely hates snakes. I looked, but couldn't find it, not that I'd do anything to it unless it was poisonous.

Sounds wonderful, Nina!

Nina this sounds absolutely delightful. How long did the luncheon last? About 2 hours?

Thought I read this wrong and had to reread. Horrifying! I didn't laugh. Wonder how long after this incident you were able to laugh.

How many years apart are your daughters?

Niagara Falls was busy including the Clifton Hills district - https://www.topofcliftonhill.com/. We took a short walk then headed over to the casino for our free dinner. Slots were cooperative allowing us to keep our money for awhile to enjoy the games and play.
Relaxing trip. Good to be away great to be back home.

Glad to hear you had a good weekend, Linda.

That took all morning & I spent the afternoon watering them & mowing the yard. The hose doesn't reach down that far, so instead of getting another hose, I just used buckets. Mowing took about 2.5 hours, more than usual since the grass got so tall & thick in just 5 days. It should continue to grow like crazy as the next 4 or 5 days are calling for showers on & off.

Nice garden gift idea - gloves.

If you can, send pictures when the flowers bloom and share your efforts with us!

This weekend staying home to get household and yard work started. Probably not getting it done as rain is expected. Will be good to get a good stab at raking the yard.

Happy Birthday, Nina.

Last week we just bought a new utensil basket for our dishwasher. Friday, after running the dishwasher all the dishes were very wet and not very well cleaned. Turns out the temperature is not getting very hot. My husband believes he can fix this but we aren't certain at what costs. We are trying to avoid buying a new dishwasher. Yes, I'm being stubborn. Let's see what happens (perhaps I should check out new dishwashers online today so I'm prepared).
Looks nice outdoors right now. Only around 40 degrees. I'll wait till it warms up before sitting out on the deck.

Went to Lowe's. Then headed to Sears. Wanted a Bosh dishwasher but learned they don't have heated drying. Ended up buying a Kenmore with a top tray for utensils and heated drying.
I'll be washing dishes until May 9. Could have gotten delivery May 6 but we will be away for the weekend.
Oh well. We tried to avoid buying a new one.

Lovely color.

Thanks for the great picture, Jim!

No hummingbirds yet. Who can blame them with the thunderstorms of yesterday and the coolness of today.

Went to bed when it was thundering. Put clothes at the bottom of my bed as I was expecting power outages. Wanted clothes and shoes nearby in case we had to leave the house. Somehow, I fell asleep even with all the noise.

Our dog gets anxious when he sees us going out. He refuses to go outside to the yard but will willingly get into the car in the driveway. This is all a form of separation anxiety.
