What are U doing today? (Ongoing thread)

So many other-worldly places exist right on our planet, and we never even knew about it. Here are 33 landmarks that look like paintings and scenes from science fiction movies. (Some are! Avatar)

I hope you can see these pictures Nina, but they're on the same site. Might be some browser setting, but I couldn't tell you what.

It hit 79 here today! Chip was sweaty & so were the insides of my legs after the ride. Shorts weather!

It supposedly hit the low 80's here today, but it was so dry & windy that it didn't feel that hot. Tuesday night, possible snow followed by Wednesday morning frost warnings. Supposed to start raining here tonight into Tuesday as the front pushes through. Thursday the temps start climbing again, though.
I made the most of the nice day. I only got a few minutes in the shop tonight. I spent the morning grading around the barn, some on the lane, & cleaning up branches & trees around the woods. This afternoon was mostly spent weeding & mowing the lawn.

I got out of there for under $150 & they threw in a girly calendar for free. It features some very pretty local girls fully clothed, but in some provocative poses - if you think a girl in work boots with a tape measure can be sexy. Well, I like them & it's a perfect shop calendar.
Here's the sawmill's web site. You should look at the project page. Awesome work.

Well, you have the right continent, for one of them. :-) Our oldest daughter (of three) married an Aussie, and they live in his hometown of Maryborough, in the southern part of the Australian state of Queensland. The other two girls live in the U.S.; the youngest is an Army wife living in Missouri, where her husband is currently stationed, and our widowed middle daughter lives in Bluefield, WV (Bluefield, VA's "sister city," just across the state line). So far, she's the only one of the three who has kids; so this Easter, among other things, we'll be coloring and hiding/hunting Easter eggs with her four children.

Here in the mountains, the cold lingers longer than it does in the lower altitudes of Virginia. It's still cold at night (sometimes in the 30s) and in the mornings, if not all day; so we don't have a lot of cultivated flowers blooming yet, though many of the flowering trees are, and our grass is also bright green. (And will soon need mowing!) It warmed up a fair bit the week of the 6th, and our neighbor's tulip tree blossomed on Palm Sunday into a vision of loveliness. Sadly, it snowed two days later, and the resulting freeze killed every bloom on it. :-(

Marg wanted to ride through the fields so I could see how badly a flower is taking them over. I've been seeing more of them, but until she pointed it out, I hadn't realized how thick they'd gotten. They're like a short wild onion (garlic) right now, but will get a small white flower in a month or so, I think. They have a little white bulb when I dig them up. Anyone have any idea what they are? I'm going to see if 2-4-D will kill them off.

:My world is a lamp to your feet and a light for your path." Hebrews 12:28-29

Nope. No money for lunch, either. I buy from the same guy all the time, so he let me slide until tomorrow, though.

Lily came to me & immediately wiped her face off on my leg. Turned out all 3 of the girls got sprayed, so we spent a while washing them. We're getting too good at this. Poor Amber inhaled some & is pretty miserable. Lily has rubbed herself all over my bed trying to get the smell off. Worse, it's storming out so we can't keep the windows open. I want to sleep alone tonight!

Jim, sorry about your skunk-smell situation. :-(

;-)
