I think THE ASSASSIN AND THE UNDERWORLD. (Sam 3) After reading THE ASSASSIN AND THE EMPIRE, I...just...I was in this cloud of despondency. The former ends on a hopeful note whilst the other...*sigh*

I was heartbroken too. The hopeful endings, the laughs, the good times and then everything just falls apart and you're left in a sea of anguish!! The novellas hold so much emotion in them and are amazing to read.

I loved The Assassin and the Desert. I never saw Ansel's betrayal coming, and I extremely loved the horse theft scenes.

Not to mention the variety of weapons - I was so jealous of Celaena! Ansel's betrayal was woven well into the story, so well that you never saw it coming and it was discovered, it all made so much sense and the pieces clicked together.

Omg that is exactly what I'm thinking its so like assasins creed especially with the hidden blades in her suite
So I've only read the first three so I don't even know the full story about Sam yet but I neeeeeeed to finish them now
Well that's disappointing. They could have done so much more with this cover. Sarah describes her assassin outfit in the novella. They could have at least incorporated the mask she wore. /sigh
i love all the novellas but the i would have to say the ASSASSIN AND THE DESERT and the ASSASSIN & THE PIRATE LORD..
Yeah the cover looks like they just photoshopped a cloak onto the ToG cover and zoomed in a little bit... which they probably did
I finally got my mom to read Assassin's Blade, after some relentless advertising for months. (There were several mornings where she woke up to the book sitting mysteriously where her glasses used to be). She just finished The Assassin and the Healer and she's just like, "I love Sam, and hate Arobynn. I hope she ends up with Sam in the end of the series, and somehow Arobynn dies." And I'm just like, "You're so adorable in your naivete, I wished that is what happened too. You can cry on my shoulder later..."
Hey everyone. I've read ToG, CoM & HoF. I want to read the novellas but I am not sure of the order and which books to read first, can anyone help me out please. THANK YOU :D <3
I have the digital edition of The Assassin's Blade and wanted a hard bound copy. Went on Amazon.com. Unpersonalized Signed Copy, Unread with Photos of Signing. Snatched it up in a heartbeat. Major Score!
I loved The Assassin and the Desert. The characters were great and I loved the setting and the Asterion mares. It broke my heart when the Mute Master said to Celaena, "When you give your master his letter, also give him this. And tell him that in the Red Desert, we do not abuse our disciples."I totally want to go live with the assassins in the Red Desert. I love the Mute Master because he was so kind to Celaena.

The Assassin and the Underworld was my favorite, but the Assassin and the Desert is a close second. They were all amazing.
I have a question and I'm sure I know the question but can someone please clarify for me anyway because I just can't fully comprehend it in all honesty.but the last line from Arobynn 'because I don't like sharing my belongings'
??? ~ I need a further explanation, I'm sure I know the answer to my question of, what exactly does he mean? but I need to ask anyway?
Arobynn set up Sam in Assassin and the Empire. In his (Arobynn's) mind, he owns Celeana. By engaging in a relationship with Sam, Arobynn thought a harsh lesson was necessary. He killed Sam and had Celeana sent to the mines. Arobynn was a nasty, nasty man, but so well written you couldn't help but like him (if you enjoy the villainy sort). All too often authors cast their big bad uglies as all consuming evil. While that is part of who Arobynn was, he was also subtle and clever when necessary. As a writer, I can't help but admire how he was written.
it is very well written, which is why I love it, and though that was what I thought thank you for clearing it up. it's just too hard to accept because I love the charcters so much.
Not to be a hater, but I just don't understand why everyone loves Sam so much. I didn't find him especially sexy or compelling. Thoughts?!
I think he's so loved because Cealena was alone for most if her life and Sam is the first person that she really let into her heart after becoming an assassin. Sam is my favorite because I feel like he was the person that helped Cealena be able to love again.

He shaped her character and honed her rough edges.
Grace Meredith wrote: "Not to be a hater, but I just don't understand why everyone loves Sam so much. I didn't find him especially sexy or compelling. Thoughts?!"I agree. Mostly because everyone was important, everyone had powers. and he was....well, human. Just ordinary human being with a tragic life and death. The Human Caleana loved him, but the Queen Aelin deserves someone who can understand her and support her, like Rowan.
I just loved Sam's personality and their dynamics. Like they were rivals for so long and mind if hated each other but it grew into love and Sam didn't understand it at first but then he embraced it, and they were seriously the cutest couple. And how Sam got so protective over Celaena that time in The Assassin and the Underworld when Dorian tried to dance with her. And then the tragedy of Sam's death. Everything added up just makes Sam so loveable and special for everyone!
I love Sam, too but I have the slightest doubt in my mind- if he could wrap his mind around Celaena being Aelin. He would support her but I can only hope he understands her. I really want Sam to return in the future books but also be able to love Aelin and not just Celaena.
Maas said that there was no way Sam was returning, but it's alright because the world has changed and I wouldn't want him to be changed by it. He is too perfect the way he is.
Release date for the next novella is posted on Amazon! June 27, 2017!! Can't wait!!https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/168119...
I have my doubts about Sam. I don't think he'll come back :(. And Also I wondering if he would like Aelin BC he fall in love with Celaena and we know that Aelin and Celaena are totally different...
Am I the only one who just didn't connect to these novellas as much? Honestly, I could've done without them.
I would have to say, The Assassin and the Dessert. I loved the setting and the assassins. I never saw Ansel's betrayal coming. And I never thought Celeana would let her walk away alive.
My favorite was The Assassian and The under World. I loved all the bits with Sam.Question... Did anyone else see the similarities with Sam and Chaol?
Is there a dedicated thread for discussing Chaol's upcoming novella? I'll just post this here for now, unless I learn of another thread for Chaol's quest in the southern continent... Based on the scenario we were given, I'm uber curious about what might be so tide-turning that he and nesryn find. just throwing out some funny/crazy theories~
-they find the 3rd wyrdkey.
-they find a population of hidden Fae-in-exile that fled Terrasen during the Adarlanian conquest, armed and ready and all magicked up to go home.
-they find a whole lot of [any race] magic wielders ready to go back to the northern continent.
-I'm pretty certain they'll encounter Yrene, and she'll be pivotal in chaol's healing/appeal to the khagans.
-they find a vital counter-weapon to the witch towers.
-they find flying unicorns to counter the aerial Ironteeth witches and wyverns. (or griffins)
-chaol and nesryn find an MC and tie the knot. XD
(funny? crazy? no?)
I would love for Chaol to successfully raise a huge army from the southern continent.
And even though I'm plain human myself, I do hope that it's the magic wielders, the Fae, the witches--the Thirteen and the Crochans--and the hybrids that are the ones that save the world over (for reasons mentioned elsewhere). :)
Hello. I have a question, about the novellas that were not part of the the book Assassin's Blade. My question is, how many were there? These are the ones I already know about:
1) the assassin and the princess
2) the captain and the prince
3) the assassin and the captain
4) Empire of Storms Chaol's pov on the journey to the Khagan empire
5) Empire of Storms exclusive where the group meet a girl with water magic
6) Another Empire of Storms exclusive? where Aelin meets Remelle.
Are there any others?
