I have it DVR'd so I am going to watch this weekend. It looked good.

I loved this show. I'm not usually into cop shows but the writer's character makes the show. The cop and the writer have such great chemistry and the plot line is excellent. I loved when all the writers were sitting around playing cards! LOL

Who were the writers playing cards?
I think one was James Patterson but I cannot, for the life of me, remember the name of the bearded guy.

The cop and the writer do have excellent chemistry. I've seen the actor playing the writer before, can't remember his name, and always thought he had great timing for the funnies.

Yes, he does have excellent timing for the funnies, Roxy! My favorite was when he asked the cop if she ever let loose, "dropped her top like cops gone wild". Classic!

I'm not sure who the other writers were, I know he said he wanted those photographs for the writers (and he listed them) he played poker with, but I can't remember who they were.

Can't wait until next week - and I'm glad I have something to watch on Mondays.

I looked on the ABC website. Wow, they give a very detailed written synopsis of what happened in the first episode. usual show sights never do that! Any way the two writeres were James Patterson and Stephen J. Cannell. i don't think I've read the latter but I've seen him before.

Nathan Fillion is the actor playing the writer. He played Malcolm Reynolds on Firefly.

Stephen Cannell is a tv producer and he writes novels. He produced the A-Team and several other TV shows. I think he writes books like the character on the show does.
I agree the characters have great chemistry. I hope they get a chance to let this show catch on.

Prior to Two Guys and a Girl, he played Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live. That's where I first found him. I loved him right from the start! He's also been in several episode of Buffy as "Caleb". I totally agree Roxy! I love Monday Nights now! Rick Castle is so "dreamy"! LOL

I loved Rick's reference to OLTL on Monday's show when he said that he got the plot idea for his first novel from watching One Life To Live. I've really missed seeing him on television since his Captain Tight Pants days on Firefly.

I wasn't sure how I was going to like the ideas, but all in all, the casting is great and the comedy really lightens up the mood significantly.

By the way, if you guys want to see more of Fillion's work, watch Waitress. He plays an OBGYN in that one. He also had a minor role as a soldier in Saving Private Ryan. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderful Fillion is as an actor. One minute he's a grumpy space captain, next he's a doctor for a small town, finally he's a writer.

I have to wait until this weekend to watch all of the shows so far because my boyfriend wants to watch it too......its killing me because I'm really wanting to see it now after hearing what you all think!! LOL

I know. My boyfriend's mom and I saw the latest episode last night, and we laughed out loud! Normally we don't like that particular genre, but it really is a great show that is a lot of fun to watch.

My husband watched it the other night and I asked him what he thought. He said he like it then said that he liked him (Nathan Fillion)

I about fell off the couch laughing (I just watched it last night) when Becket showed up at Castle's book reading and said "I thought since you bother me at my work that I'd come bother you at yours" her means of bothering him were hysterical!!!

I can't help it. I don't react this way to real people who are that charming but a character...makes all silly. I think because I know he's not real so I don't have to wonder what his alterior motivve is for being that charming.

He is awesome thoug. My friend thinks he's cute. Once again, she's gonna TRY to convince me and I'm not going to let that happen.

The entire week before the premiere aired, they played the commercial about every ten minutes...and EVERY time Castle yelled, "Tell me you saw that!", I busted out laughing...every single time.

I love this show..Nathan is absolutely hilarious, and I especially love the connection he has with the girl who plays his daughter. I'm not sure how it is doing ratings wise, but I hope the network gives it time. They have a great show on their hands.

I hope it lasts too...I'm going to be so mad if yet another show I love gets cancelled!!

The daughter is the most grounded one in the household! Castle's mom is a piece of work. Very funny. But I love Nathan Fillion...always have.

Just finished watching tonight's episode. I'm glad we've finally learned more about Beckett's past. I loved the game Castle and his daughter were playing when Beckett arrived. And Castle saying that he called his daughter because "Alexis missed me," and he knew that because of his spidey sense! Enjoyed this episode very much.

How about the season finale? I hope that the new season starts soon, because that cliff hanger was terrible! I can't wait to find out what Castle found out.

I missed all but the last 15 minutes of the finale because I went to see Star Trek (which I loved!), so I'm planning to try to watch it on the ABC Website. I know what you mean about the cliff hanger, Heather. ABC still hasn't officially renewed the show! If it doesn't come back, who do we send hate mail to?

I don't know, but I know there's several people I live with and know who would send hate mail.
