[Publisher/ Editor] Rogue Blades: Foundation (RBF) and Entertainment (RBE)
Jason wrote: "Glad to see you back, Jason. As I am not an FB person, thank you for posting this here. I look forward to future updates...and releases."Thank you, Jason! And all y'all here - I may not comment here as much as I'd like or should, but I love keeping up with y'all and sharing in your explorations, writings, and finds. I will always keep my Goodreads peeps up to date :)
Howdy y'all! Couple of notes:(1) If you were not aware, RBE has 3 open subs going! None are straight up S&S, and all are first of sorts for RBE's lineup: CROSSBONES & CROSSES (historical swashbuckler non-fantastical); CRAZY TOWN (fantastical crime noir); SOMEBODY KILL THE PRINCE! (fairytale good-guyism (homage to PRINCESS BRIDE)). Subs call at https://roguebladesentertainment.subm...
(2) I'm testing out the social site MeWe - probably to leave Facebook (at least personally, probably will still leave an RBE presence there). Here's me https://mewe.com/i/jason_m.waltz
(3)Oh, and if you haven't visited in a while, RBE has a heroic blogging place called the Gathering if you care to add another reading site to your enjoyment @ http://roguebladesentertain.wixsite.c...
(4) Finally - RBE is in need of a third slush reader. One of our team members had to relinquish his role. Normally it is not a tedious or onerous position, but there is some catch-up on reading, so the start will be a little more laborious than usual. Benefits exist, though they are admittedly less than the potential work load ;) I have sent some feelers out already, but I recognize this group as containing many readers/writers/editors/creators with the same or very similar heroic point of views. So if anyone has time and interest, let's talk. :)
Hey Jason, just found out about this a while ago, so I’m currently doing some research into the Crusades for a story idea. Reading and re-reading a lot of REH and Harold Lamb, and I also hear that Scott Oden would like to take a poke at a Crusader tale. I’d also like to try a Pirate swashbuckler, but we’ll see. I am really looking forward to this anthology!
S.Wagenaar, follow that muse!
I’ve an outline for Crazy Town completed. Need a few months to transform it.

glad to hear you're still at it, Seth. we're finally receiving consistent noir, so be sure your boiled is truly hard!
So -- RBE has at least one new anthology in time for the annual anthology JAN-FEB groupread 😎 this one is CRAZY TOWN Crazy Town: A Dark Anthology of Fantastical Crime Noir (Rogue Blades Presents) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KDSJM4R/...BUT - I'm cheating, as it's not a S&S title unfortunately. I'm bringing it up here to make an offer - I'd like reviews pretty please. But I also need money to pay authors for the next titles. So here's my deal to this groups members: if you post a review on Amazon/Goodreads, I'll send a free ecopy to the person of your choice. Actually, I'll stand by that offer for CHALLENGE! DISCOVERY as well. Just send me a link to your review and the email address of your gift recipient. Thanks for all your support!
And John O’Neill on BlackGate.com gave it a nice introduction!

FYI y'all - RBE's 2019 open calls close in one week. DEATH'S STING, REACH FOR THE SKY, and SLAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE are almost full. Be sure to check them out!
Hope you got a pile of stories to work through for these anthologies! I was happy that I managed to finish my story in time for submission.
Thanks, Stan! Each of these has the potential to fill from the current pendings, we're very close! I hope not to but will reopen for a month if I have to after we've sorted things out. Thanks for submitting!
Howdy All! Anyone here on Facebook and interested in joining a private group as an advance reader for reviews and blurbs for Rogue Blades? If I have not already invited you and you find this appealing, please let me know. I believe we have to be 'friends' for me to invite you, so reach out.
Thanks!

First, kudos to you and all of Rogue Blades for continuously pushing heroic fiction and nonfiction.
Secondly, I took a stab at renaming this thread to contain both RBE and RBF. We can tweak that as needed.

thought I'd let y'all know of a chance to learn a bit about RBE's latest themed anthology release DEATH'S STING, some bit more about its illustrious editor, and have a chance at winning a free e-copy... visit GW Thomas' book blitz at http://darkworldsquarterly.gwthomas.o...
So Death's Sting--Where Art Thou?: A Heroic Anthology of Immortal Protagonists has been generating a lot of positive buzz, but it seems to mostly be appearing in conversations with me, not online. If you happen to be one who reads it, please post a review or star cluster on Amazon or Goodreads, thank you.In other news, the RBE 2020 open calls have begun, with a S&S title currently open at https://www.rogue-blades.com/RBE-Subm...
Howdy y'all! Thought I'd respectfully ask anyone who has read ROBERT E. HOWARD CHANGED MY LIFE to consider nominating it, its cover artist, and any of its contributing authors for an REH Award at https://rehfoundation.org/2022-nomina...
Apologies for being late here, but for those who haven't seen it on the RB website, Whetstone Discord, or RBE Facebook, here is my retirement and final S&S anthology announcement:https://rogue-blades.com/2023/03/07/j...
Saluting Jason. You reignited a generation with Return of the Sword and many collections after that. Glad you can at least put time toward your own writing.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, Jason. I believe we first crossed paths back on the SFReader Forum, oh so long ago, and I wonder if you were one of the slush readers for Flashing Swords Magazine back in the day that plucked my story out of the pile that eventually appeared in issue #10. In any case, I’ve had the tremendous pleasure of working with you in the past, (and of having some tales rejected as well), and I cannot thank you enough for your support, for me personally and for the genre as a whole. You stepped up and helped carry forward the tradition of S&S, giving it a place to live, expand, and grow into the modern era, putting out some fine work and anthologies along the way. I am sure you are rightfully proud of your achievements, with more to come no doubt. My best wishes on your future endeavors, and I look forward to reading your forthcoming tales.

I look forward to reading your thoughts on my future writings :)
Jason wrote: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, Jason. From one cool-named guy to another, you make me blush. I can't tell you enough how positive your words are and make me feel. Thank you.

A handsome offer. Have you considered posting on the Whetstone discord? You should get your quota within minutes.
Sounds awesome Jason and I do want to read it. But I haven't been able to read a single word since my dog passed away almost three weeks ago. Great offer! Someday!
Clint wrote: "I’m so excited about this, I keep forgetting parts: I agree to read and post prior to 4/28"Excellent on all your answers Clint! Please email me at RBFHeroicLit@gmail.com so I can send it along.
Richard wrote: "A handsome offer. Have you considered posting on the Whetstone discord? You should get your quota within minutes." Thanks Richard! That is my 3rd target if I don't land 3 readers here. I started narrow from the REH/Conan 'pros' to the S&S 'pros' first :) Are you interested?
Michael Fierce wrote: "Sounds awesome Jason and I do want to read it. But I haven't been able to read a single word since my dog passed away almost three weeks ago. Great offer! Someday!" Ah, I am sorry to hear that, Michael. Losing a best canine friend is tough, and so is losing the desire to read. I wish you swift recovery and many fine memories.

I just haven't been able to sleep, only about 35-40 hours total in the last few weeks and reading was always my comfort zone but yeah, no reading at all.
Okay, I just re-read your post; I agree to read Hither Came Conan and post a review at both Goodreads and Amazon before April 28th. If you are still looking for a reader! 😎
