Having just finished this book, the wonderful example of "Morrie" is resounding around my head like a clanging cymbal. What messages from this book resounded most with you?

No. I thought the book simplistic. I guess this is what comes of a lack of religious background today. Most of this was taught to me in religious instruction before I was out of grammar school. If this is considered college material it is very sad. My review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I don't know about the book's messages, but I believe it help me look at life in a calmer way. Certainly over the years I became less afraid of death and dare look the longer term, and this book played some part in influencing the changes in me. I don't know if the book was supposed to turn one's life upside down, though. The two books that made the biggest impact in my life was A Thousand Little Pieces and It's Not About The Bike. But guess what! The authors are all cheaters. I'd stick with the low tide, really, and won't be looking for any life turners in the future. I say Well Done Morrie.
Yes, Indeed. :) Some words that are told by Morrie in this book are certainly mind-blowing. Having a compact generalization towards life's uncertainties is immensely commendable. Every chapter and topic in this book has a certain particular lesson that needs to be inculcated to our minds as rational human beings. As Morrie was saying, "Love one another, Or die." Wohooo! Perfectly said! and "When you learn how to die, You'll learn how to LIVE." Any thoughts, people? :)
This is a book I revisit once a year in the fall. I grab it, sit on my counter and feel the sun warm my body as I read it from beginning to end. I love this book and what it reminds me to be! I am so very thankful a friend told me about it. One of my all time favorites!

Always nice that something so moving is a perennial favourite!!
Yes it has. I look at life has time i do not have to waste. When i read this book i did not know how it would effect me. At the end i cried but I also thought to myself "What have you done with your life so far". So at that point i decided to join a Winter guard program and do some amazing things with my life before i finally reach my end. This, and his other book "Five People You Meet in Heaven", have inspired me to take some chances, learn from my mistakes, and get up and keep moving. The book taught me that death will come at any moment in time that it wants to.
I have probably read this book about 5 times. Each time I read it, I found a new meaning. It is actually very inspiring and I have viewed my life differently because of it. I recommend for readers to keep re-reading this book. You'll be surprised by the outcome every time.
I read this book as a grade 11 english book. At first I didn't want to read it but when i started the book I could NOT put it down. The inspirations and life lessons I got from this book are countless. This is one of the most life-touching books I have ever read and I would read it multiple times. Since then, I have read 3 more of Mitch Albom's books and am hoping to read another one after my current read. Simply amazing book.
I think it's important to take away that a man who was dying, still could be positive! That shows courage and strength! I listened to this in audio form, and it was great to hear Mitch tell you the entire story and in the end the were recordings of Morrie. It was very powerful...I cried like a baby in the car!
I read the book I think 2 years ago and I can still very much remember the story..Well i am still afraid of death of course (hohoho!!), but the book certainly helped me appreciate life more . It was a life changing experience :p
