What are your biggest challenges?

There are myriad challenges when you're an author. What do you find your biggest ones are?

[S.J.]

I think for me its just finding the time... to write, edit, promote, network, etc. I have a full time job in the city and a family. Needless to say, I'm a VERY busy woman!

[Brian]

Time to write is a major issue for me these days.

[Shelley]

Right now organizing my time and activities and staying focused on completing priorities of writing and promotion are my biggest challenges.

[Allan]

Organizing and launching marketing on my debut novel. It's not easy but I'm trying.

[Brian]

H.R. wrote: "Also, editing. It's easy to write, but there are times as I'm writing when I have this urge to edit and suddenly stop writing altogether. That's me lately."

When that happens H.R. sometimes it's good to just start rewriting what you've written. You'd be amazed at times what you'll come out with and how fleshed out the bit you've rewritten will become.

Finding readers! After many, many years writing for magazines when I didn't have to worry about such mundane things because the editors did it for me, now I find I have to actually get out there and market. And I'm drowning!
