As partly Italian, I come by my adoration of good food honestly!I love reading books about food about as much as I like cooking and eating good food--what a genius idea for a group like this! Looking forward to chiming in :)

My name is Janel and I am addicted to foodie fiction. My love for the genre began years ago when I discovered culinary mysteries. Then I progressed onto literary culinary fiction, foodie memoirs, etc. I need to get a larger bookshelf to house my foodie fiction books, since they are stacked on the shelves 2-3 books deep. I'm afraid to calculate how many bookshelves I'd need to house all of my cookbooks in one place!
I am a writer and recently my love for foodie fiction has taken over my writing. I have started a women's fiction series that include recipes. I have also been a blogger for many years.
Welcome to the group Janel! I'm fairly new to foodie fiction so I think I'm in awe of your collection without even seeing it!!
Feel free to mosey around the group. We also have an authors section if you want to tell us about your foodie books.

I'll stop over to the author post and let everybody know about what I write. I'm looking forward to chatting with everybody.

I'm Christy, from Perth, Western Australia (recent transplant from Denver, CO). I love my foodie fiction books and look forward to hearing of new titles for me to read!!
I found the group as I've just read a new foodie book in The Recipe Box which is great!
Here is my review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Where should we post these in the future?
I too have started a blog - nothing fancy but it's a start - mostly about book reviews, with a few recipes and my other favorite hobby - knitting tied in. Would love for you to check it out and offer any feedback!

Thanks for starting such a great group!!!
Hi Christy! Welcome to the group! And wow, Colorado to Australia must have been a huge change! I'd love to visit both places some day.
We have a section called 'foodie books' and each genre has its own thread. You can recommend new books and maybe find some that you'd like to read :)

Thanks Jen I'll check it out!
Hi, I love food and just about anything and everything that has to do with it from growing to eating and reading about all of it especially in memoir or novels. I think of myself as an intuitive cook, a dash of this and a sprinkle of that. My favorite dish to make is Lasagna or just about anything with pasta. I taught my girls when they were growing up that the most important ingredient in their food is love. Of course the second ingredient is wine.
I look forward to participating in this group.
Peace,
Morgan

Nice to meet you! I hadn't heard of that cookbook but definitely sounds interesting! I have a collection of cookbooks but I usually just use the recipes as a starting point and then change it to my liking.

I also haven't heard of that cookbook. I love easy recipes with only a few ingredients so that cookbook will probably make it onto my next amazon order!

This sure looks like a fun group! I'm a food-travel blogger and food fiction novel writer with a serious addiction to any combination of delicious food and fun reading. ;)
My food blog, which features lots of free giveaways and recipes gleaned all over Europe can be found at www.crowdedearthkitchen.com. My novel, How to Bake a Chocolate Soufflé, can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2....

I was just skimming over your blog. Oh my there are a lot of great pictures to drool over! Especially those Austrian desserts! Yum

I always loved reading and when I retired, I gravitated to any author who fed me food imagery. Simultaneously, with more time to cook and bake, I read cookbook marginalia, not just recipes. I realized in'06 there were few books about bakeries, and began to write the mostly true story of my grandfather and the family bakery, where I started to work at the tender age of 10.
"The Bakery Girls" chronicles the lives of three women who held the bake shop together at various times in their lives. I related each sister to a treat: Dorothea reinvented bread, Louise uses pie as therapy for WWll vets and Elaine captures a "cake slasher."
I'm looking forward to your posts and already found a great Herbal from Karon.

My name is Dominique and I love to read, make new friends and cooking. I stopped counting how many cooking book I own!

Good to be here. My name is Kathleen and I love good food and good friends to share with. Looking forward to all of this.

Have you read any food related books- not cookbooks that you'd recommend?"
Uhh, no, at least not recently as I recall. The reading I do these days is largely associated with classics, modern literature, poetry, and cookbooks

I wonder how you got into baking? Do you have a favorite cookbook, that you rely on?
I wrote a novel in which the inspiration for it was a woman named Louise, who sold baked goods!
I'm happy you joined,
Florence

Welcome. I understand and will look at your books for Holiday gifts. I was born into a bakery and just returned from a Pennsylvania book tour vacation. I wrote "The Bakery Girls" and am available for skype book events.
With lovin' from the oven,

HELLO! I'm pretty new to Goodreads -- just got on to figuring out Groups and glad to find a few with clear focus on Baking & Cooking.
My 1st recipe book published Oct2018 -- mostly ... COOKIES! My 2nd recipe book (also mostly cookies) is 1/2-complete and on-hiatus while I complete my 3rd book, which is a fundraiser for a veterans organization I'm a member of. I'm starting a Recipe-Of-The-Month through my website December 2019.

Hello All!
I have been cooking for 20+ years, took multiple cooking classes and I have been published in Taste of Home Magazine more than 10 times.
I have a vast collection of cook books ranging from Gordon Ramsay to Ree Drummond, Six Sisters, Alice's Tea Cup and more.
I wrote two cook books that are on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Powell's and more called Thanks a Brunch and Asian Fusion. My third book is called Mexican American Cantina and that will be released this month in paper back and e-books.
