I will perhaps follow up Bring Up the Bodies (Thomas Cromwell, #2) by Hilary Mantel with this, as I have become quite interested in this era after reading Wolf Hall (Thomas Cromwell, #1) by Hilary Mantel . If you haven't read these, I can recommend them.

I am going to have to chase this one up Jennifer, as I have only recently heard of it and have not yet come across it anywhere.

I recently finished reading Thirteen Guests: A British Library Crime Classic Thirteen Guests A British Library Crime Classic by J. Jefferson Farjeon which I really enjoyed. Here is my review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show....
I enjoyed it far more than the previous book I read by the same author.

Vonnie Jeffers (vonjeffers) | 5 comments Just started If the Shoe Kills by Lynn Cahoon.

message 474: by ☺Trish (new)

☺Trish Just read Christmas Caramel Murder by Joanne Fluke. It was a very quick and easy read (more like a novella in length - with many recipes taking up space in a very small book). A few of the recipes sounded intriguing enough that I may attempt to make them (especially the Orange Raisin Cake, except like another reviewer suggested I just might decide to substitute craisins for the raisins). These Hannah Swenson books always leave me hungry for more (but especially sweet treats)! Yum!

message 482: by Sherrill (new)

Sherrill | 1 comments Reading the "Bought the Farm" cozy mystery series by Ellen Riggs! It is hilarious and such a wonderful stress relief or just plain enjoyable (if you don't need to relieve stress!). It's one of those sweet series that the reader really hates to see end! Anyone else read it? Have recommendations for reading once i finish it and go into withdrawals?
