If you've any questions about the Read-In, what's happening or how to get involved, just comment in here and hopefully we'll get you an answer! :)

Being so new to all this, I'll bite. When you say "volunteer" a book, precisely what does that mean? Am I supplying free copies to all the readers who sign up for this?
Well, I just saw part of the answers on another part of the postings. One question though: What is "ARR system"? Not familiar with that acronym. (Sigh, my novice status is showing again.)
No problem Valley - I still don't know most of these things! ;) ARR - authors requesting reviews
Yes - the idea is that the authors in the group benefit from us reading their book in the particular month, which ever gets the most votes - the readers benefit from getting an ebook :)
Hopefully people see it as win-win for the group!
Sweet GloryI'm sure these are stupid questions, but here goes:
Are only the 1,497 members of Books, Blogs, Authors, & More allowed to participate in this event?
If so, does this mean that we could conceivably give away 1,497 ebooks, should our book be chosen?
Lastly, and please pardon my technological ignorance, but how would my ebook be so widely distributed?
Lisa
Hi - not crazy questions at all :) Yes - you would be required to provide free copies to the readers who sign up to the read-in. (The benefit for authors is the discussion of your book during the month and potential reviews from those taking part).
The read-in is open to all members of the group - I really doubt anywhere near that will take part (given what I've seen on other groups). Everyone in the group is eligible to vote in the poll to choose the book and sign up to read.
Readers wanting to take part will be asked to provide the format required and their email address on the sign up thread, which the author would then provide, prior to 1st February.
Hope this makes sense :)
Okay, so do you think that if I give everyone a code for a free Smashwords copy that will work? Because it should have all the formats anyone could want, and if nothing else there's always a PDF option as well. I'll start sending the codes to everyone Monday if that's all right to give more people a chance to sign in for the read.
I already have On a Foreign Field: A Story of Loyalty and Brotherhoodon my Kindle. I just haven't gotten around to reading it. Since I don't need a copy, do I need to post to the sign up thread?
Hi Shomeret - nope you don't need to sign in - we're going to start reading from 1st Feb (or before if people want to sneak a head start) and we've got the discussion thread open for anyone who wants to start chatting about the book.
As a reader (if we sign up) are we obligated to read every single read-a-long? Say, for example, the book I voted for doesn't get chosen/am not interested in the book that is chosen or perhaps I'm too busy that month to read. Can I choose which months to participate?
Hi Scatty - yep - you can pick and choose as you wish. The vote happens before the reader sign-up each month and so if you vote but don't fancy what gets picked then you don't have to join in to read.
The main thing we would ask is that if you sign up as a reader and receive a copy of the book that you provide a rating / review on Goodreads for it. This can be after the Read-In month if you don't get time then.
Obviously, with the discussion threads and author question areas connected to the Read-In there are added benefits of reading at the same time as the group.
Hope this helps :)

So the sign up is a month by month basis then, correct?
I kind of had the same question, are you going to start a new sign in thread for the next group read, or are we going to keep the the one that's already up, because that might get a little confusing.
