If we got a sequel, who should it be about?

Libbie Since the book seemed fairly well wrapped, I would love to see maybe ten years into the future, maybe longer. Maybe the child of a soul and a human.

Steph There shouldn't be a sequel at all
The end wrapped it up quite nicely

Libbie I think these comments are Stephenie testing the water, so to speak.

She had this breakout blockbuster right out of the gate, then The Host did exceptionally well. Then the movies took over her life - she was very involved with the first three Twilight films, and was a producer on the last two. She's also producing the film version of The Host. None of that kind of schedule is conducive to writing anything longer than another to-do list.

Jamie I loved this book, and it really did feel wrapped up in the end. However, my love of this book makes me want to go further into the story. I agree it shouls be a good amount into the future, a good ten years. But i wouldn't want to get out of the original book. Maybe it could give us a look ten years down the road through one of the children mentioned int the book. It would give us more insight to want wanda's experience really did for the humans.

Destiny Smith I really enjoyed this book, I couldn't put it down. I would love a sequel, but idk about who.... Maybe Jamie all grown up!

oh, I like that idea! like, one of the children who are never hosted but have souls for parents? and it could give us an idea of how much/little progress the human resistance has made, which is what I really want to know.

ah, that is a nice thought! :)

Margarita it should be about how they get rid of those nasty parasites!

Brittany | BookRamblings Wanda and burns could be the start of a rebellion against the parasites.

message 10: by Rose (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rose Corcoran The sequel should be about their lives sfter wanda gets a new body, and it should be told from wanda's and melanie's points of view
The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer

Megan If there is a sequel, it should be about the other side of the story, an uprising of humans from the point of view of the souls

I totally agree with this. Have both of their point of views. I also heard someone say that they should make the sequel about their kids, but they didnt have kids yet so i think it should be the third

Dorottya steph is actually planning two sequel books, the soul and the seeker...i'm not sure i want her to write them because host really seemed like a standalone, but if she will i'll be curious:D

Corinne She has already talked about doing the books as a trilogy. She has mentioned that the sequels would be called "the Seeker" and "the Soul" Which opens the door for literally DOZENS of angles at which to come from. I truly hope she DOES continue on as I love reading about this world!

I'm totally with you. I don't want to hear about some teenage angst from some love triangle - or square whatever - with Wanda. She's got Ian and while I would appreaciate a short story to get the feel of their lives after the book I mostly want to hear about the new characters they all met at the end. especially the one from the Fire Planet

I disagree. as I said in my previous comment, the last thing I want is some teenage angst over a love triangle and with the effect BOTH guys have on the girls because they were in the same body while experiencing all these confusing feelings, a triangle would be inevitable and I just want a HEA for the four of them

Sarah I guess I'd love to read about Melanie and Jared's POV this time. Since the first book almost rolled on Wanda's POV. I could also tolerate a Love story for Jamie. :) Why not, eh? :)
