1. Well, I'd say any age that can appreciate it. Parents, teens, a lot of people read this series.
2. Jasper. He was... quiet. He brought up a lot of questions... He was... mysterious, and yet his silence spoke a thousand words.
3. The way SM changed vampires.
4. Yeah, it was.
5. No, I don't think so. I think the appeal is... a kind of forbidden love with an immortal lover.
6. Well, they read it because the younger people rave about it. They love it because... well, I don't know. I'm one of the younger people.
7. I don't understand the question.
8. Women most definitely.
9. I laugh in the face of whole series. Try every thing SM has written.
10. Yeah, lol. It changed how I see vampires.
11. Nope. I flaunt my love of the series.
12. Well, yes and no. I love the writing and the storyline... But after about 15 times of reading it, I started seeing some writing things she could change.
13. I don't know
14. Yeah, I do.
15. Well... um... Dang, I have to act as if I've only read the first book... On just the first book... I was thinking more of a father's influence. Billy doesn't like the Cullens, and that just rubbed off on Jake. And he was jealous.
16. A day. I stayed up until 5 in the morning to finish it. Yes, I got caught up.
17. Duh
18. Yes and no.
19. No, I wouldn't. I would have been traumatized multiple times. I wouldn't have fallen for Eddie. And I wouldn't have been able to keep the secret, unfortunately.
20. Yeah, I do. She was close and missed her. I'm close to my mom.
21. Well, assuming I'm in high school, which I'm not... No, he wouldn't have let me go so easily. And as a cop (which he isn't)... Yeah, that's funny.
22. Not so much. I guess that's part of the draw to it.
23. It really depends on my mood. Pretty much all of the female characters, but overall... Angela.
24. lol, Alice. Vampire, fun... Jasper's wife. What more could I want?
25. Yes, I did. No, it didn't.
26. I can't speak for every girl in the world.
27. What do you mean?

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

1.There really isn’t a specific age group, but mostly teenage girls

2. I was really drown towards Edward, and not just because he’s a vampire or outrageously gorgeous, but because he really makes me feel safe in way like I’m Bella when I read it and he’s there to protect me.
3. Interesting?? Hmmm Well, I think that Edward is willing to control himself for love is really cool.

4. I have to say it was, but it would have been just as good with out it.

5. I hope they wouldn’t because it’s not about getting down and dirty, it’s about true love, and the sacrifices that we can make to be happy with our special person.

6. I don’t really know why they like it, maybe they get caught up in the fantasy and wish it were real.

7. I would think that the older women would think kind of the younger girls for reading it, because we read it in anticipation to find our gorgeous Edward, and the older women should have someone like that already- not to sound harsh.

8. Women, but I have heard of men reading it to, but they were mostly gay.
Have you read the whole series?
9. Yes

10. In a way it did change my life, and my mind set of things.

11. I’ve often found myself reading the more intimate parts with people around me, and yeah, it was kind of embarrassing, because you think that everyone around you can hear what’s happening.

12. Yes

13. Level- like teenage and up?

14. I think that most of the characters were well developed, because they grow more with the series.

15. Because they’re enemies and they both have love for Bella, just on different levels.

16. It probably took me a few weeks, but I was doing other things too and I could have gone faster.

17. I do, because she found her true love and soul mate, and they are bond to be together.

18. yes

19. I probably would, like the klutzy parts.

20. not very, because a mom should be able to take care of her children and not the other way around even if they think it’s hard.

21. I don’t think my dad would, especially if he was a cop, but he was in a situation where he wasn’t very experienced and he didn’t know how to react.

22. If you take away the fact of the Vampires and were wolfs, I think that it is very realistic as to how they all react in certain situations, because nobody’s perfect.

23. I’d like to say Bella, but I don’t think that would fit, or any of the others because we all are different.

25. that’s obvious, Bella because she gets the dude.

26. Yes, I saw the movie and even though it did damper my image of the characters, it also added on to my image of them already.

27. Defiantly

28. I’m not sure what you mean

message 15: by Nava Cullen (new)

Nava Cullen (thetanvampire) | 176 comments Nava K, age 12.
I'd say between 12-35.
Carlisle because he's totally my type, Jasper because he makes me laugh, Alice because she seems like an amazing person and like she's so much fun, and Emmett because he's sweet AND he reminds me of myself.
The vampires. Hands down.
Yes, definitely.
Um, not really.
Because of the depth and maturity of the Bella and Edward's love that can be annoyingly hard to find these days.
They probably think it's "hormones" and that girls wish there were more boys like Edward.
DEFINITELY women. It's told from the point of view of a girl in love with a guy for goodness sake!
Yes. More than once!
Yes because other than helping me grow up a little, it made me feel like there's a deeper meaning to life.
Usually not except sometimes when I talk about it with my dad because I don't really feel comfortable talking about things like boys with him.
Yes.
I think its meant for mid-teens.
Yes I definitely do. That's part of what made the book so great for me.
Because they're so different and have contradicting personalities, and they both are in love with Bella.
It took me about a week to read. I would ABSOLUTELY say I got caught up in it. That's an understatement.
Yes, because there's nothing I love me than a good "happily ever after" and I think Bella needs to be turned into a vampire in order for that to happen. Also, it would be really cool to see what it's like to be a vampire, and to see how the narration changes. (Like how the way Bella talks, for example...)
Yes, and I WISH I could relate to her feelings for Edward...
No, not really, I think I would be a little less passive when it came to Edward and I would be more cheery overall.
I think it is because it's kind of like her mom takes care of her in a mom way but then because of the way she is, Bella has to also take care of her, though in a different way,
I'm not really sure, but I don't really think so. I think what happened was Charlie was a little too shocked to act, and my dad would be dealing with some of the same feelings.
Yes.
Bella because of her average-ness.
Bella or Alice.
I did see the movie, and it changed the images only of those who I imagined to be COMPLETELY different.
Yes, I think so. Because it was so deep and Edward is just so... attractive.
It depends on the people. If I were Bella I would say that yes they would be fun. : )

Interview: ____Melzz________

What age group would you say is most attracted to this book and/or the characters?

I would say young adults.

What characters where you most drawn towards and why?

Rosalie, and Jacob. They are inherently unpredictable, and vivacious.

What was most interesting about this book?

The intense emotions, and romance.

Was the romantic aspect on this book enticing?

Yes, I think so, it kept me reading.

Do you think girls read this book because of the underlying sexual tension?

Sure. I myself, don't like reading about tension you can cut with a knife. I like a comfortable flow. So in my case, I don't choose to read it because of the tension, nor did I like it.

Why do you think older women like this book?

I'm sure they all have their own reasons, I don't generalize. Although, I think the main reason is the aspect of romance in discord.

What do you think older women think about why younger girls like this book?

Again, I don't like to generalize, but I assume they think we are all Edward obsessed. Which is true, in some cases.

Do you think that this book appeals more towards men or women?

Women, I imagine it would be difficult for men to read a love story from a woman's perspective.

Have you read the whole series?

Yes, I finished it fairly recently.

Was this a book that you would consider “life changing”, something that maybe changed your point of view on life or mindset on anything?

I wouldn't say it changed anything directly in my life. However, that doesn't mean that it didn't have any affect on me. I'm reading more, and enjoying books. That alone, has enriched my life, and my vocabulary. ;)

Would you consider yourself embarrassed to like this book?

No, I don't care what other think about my book taste. I'm more than that. Anyone who brands or judges my character for it, is a pig anyway, no offence to pigs.

If so why/what is it about this book that would make someone embarrassed?

They probably wouldn't want to be considered without taste, or as a fan girl. Or someone who wants to be friends with a pig who judges people by that, again, no offence to pigs (I'm sorry your lumped in with these snobs).

Do you think this writing is actually a good piece of literature?

Well when it comes to imagination and creativity, she has created an entire world, that has captivated readers, so I would say yes. When it comes to the technicalities of writing, she might need work, but it doesn't matter in the grand scale of things.

What reading level would you say this book has?

Well I'm not well versed on the specific levels, but I would say people over thirteen could easier understand the context of things.

Do you think that the characters where well developed? If not do you think that it was better that some of the characters were less developed? Why?

I would say that some of the main characters aren't developed. Edward, for example, was the only Cullen whose human life was barely touched on, and he often came across as a Gary Stu, whose only flaw was intense self-loathing. And our main character, Bella, was most definitely one. I think some of the unknowns were more developed like Kim.

Why do you think there is a huge rivalry between Edward and Jacob?

They were rival species, and they both loved the same girl. How could they not be rivals?

How long did it take you to read this book? Was it a book that you could say you got caught up in?

I spent a few evenings reading it, not to slow not to fast. I found it hard to put down.

Do you want Bella to turn into a vampire? Why?

Yes, because she and Edward could be together forever without the fear of death, and so she could hold her own in a battle.

Can you relate to Bella as a young girl?

No, I can not. In fact, Bella and I are opposites. I stand on my own, an I am cautious about things, I value my own life, and I try to be positive about things. I am angst free, unlike Bella.

Would you react to some of her situations in the same manor?

No

Do you think that Belle’s relationship between her mother and her was realistic? Why or why not?

Yes, welcome to my life, except my relationship with my mother reads more like a lifetime tv movie, then a paranormal romance.

As a young girl in high school do you think your dad would have just let you leave and move back to phoenix and not stop you from storming out? Especially being a cop? Is this very realistic?

My father would probably just assume I was bluffing, and taking it too far. He would use the wait and see method. I'd probably be halfway to cancun by the time he believed me. Although, unlike Bella, I wouldn't do something like that. For any reason, I wouldn't run home when the going gets tough.

What character do you most relate to? Why?

I relate to certain aspects of a few of the characters, but not one as a whole. Rosalie's pigheadedness, Emmett's humor during tense times, Jacob's practicality, and Bella's unwillingness for luxury.

Is the love that Bella and Edward have something that every girl wants?

Yes, I think deep down, we all long for a love as vital as the air we breath, the fear of death, but willing to die for them, eternal devotion.
