How did you seeit?? Not even Barnes and noble have the image yet?

Brenda Michelle wrote: "Have you guys seen the cover for Never Fade? It's gorgeous. One of the coolest covers I have ever seen."

Just saw it here..

Robin (Bridge Four) I noticed it just the other day when I was looking through my want to read list. Looks awesome.

Ashleigh I created a fan account for the darkest minds on twitter @TheDarkestMind_ so if you really liked the book come fangirl/fanboy with me over there!

Kristee Chandler I'm so glad that "Never Fade" is being released in October rather than November. I can't wait to see what happens.

♫ Maryam ♫ Michelle wrote: "I think that somehow in the 2nd book, they will cross paths and she will somehow give his memory back. remember when she accidentally gave Liam the memory of her being (practically) mind raped? i t..."

It's very possible, and the idea of her giving back the memories to Liam is totally what I can see happening!
I felt like crying when she let him go!

Harmony I LOVE THIS BOOK! But the ending killed me. I hope in the 2nd book he gets his memories back. I have a theory. Now that Liam is out of the picture...for now. Ruby and Chubs will find comfort with each other and be together. Does anybody else think this might happen?

Heaven is a bookstore I thought Chubs died?

Robin (Bridge Four) Maybe, maybe not it was never clear. He was in a bad way when they got him to his family but they are doctors so maybe he made it.

Ashleigh I thought that as well that Chubs and Ruby may find comport but that would make me so mad cause Chubs is mine! And I read the first chapter of never fade and it changed my mind!

Robin (Bridge Four) Ashleigh wrote: "I thought that as well that Chubs and Ruby may find comport but that would make me so mad cause Chubs is mine! And I read the first chapter of never fade and it changed my mind!"

Where did you read the first chapter of never fade?

Robin (Bridge Four) Ashleigh wrote: "Robin you can read it here: http://shelf-life.ew.com/2013/05/13/a..."

Hey Thanks. So did you think it was Chubs or Liam cuz it seemed like it was Liam to me.

So excited to read this next one. October has the best books coming out. It is going to be a busy reading month for me. :)

Ashleigh Robin: I'n sure it was Liam in The Datkesy Midns

Ashleigh Robin: I'm sure it was Liam in The Darkest Minds he said that to ruby. It better be or I will be very upset it October! :(

Yeah I can't wait for October Allegiant and Never Fade are the things I can't Wait for!

Did you hear that the people at BEA 2013 got a copy of Never fade? I'm so upset!

Dan I enjoyed this book tremendously, and cannot wait for the second one to come out, but I'm afraid that, for female readers, the storyline is falling away to the worry over if Ruby will end up with Liam. (Sound familiar? ...Twilight Series/Hunger Games) I hope that readers thoroughly enjoy the book because of it's interesting theme and creativity and not just because of the hopeful romance.

Although its true that girls tend to look mostly at the romance, this book was great at not having it be the main focus. It was kind of more like an afterthought to what was really going on. She ended it that way because it did capture our attention quite well. I don't know about anyone else, but I know that I absolutely loved everything about the book, not just the romance.

I completely agree. Bracken did an amazing job of keeping the heart of the story at the forefront of our minds without clouding it with the romance. My first post was mainly a hopeful wish that Bracken continues to keep the romance as an afterthought. As a guy, I do tend to roll my eyes at the areas of the book that delve into the relationship, but I'm not entirely against it. I think it adds another layer to the book, as long as I don't end up reading a sappy novel about two teenage lovers. The book has a great story at its foundation, and I would hate to see Bracken lose that.

Robin (Bridge Four) I really liked it was in the backdrop of the story. If anything it was more about a group of friends sticking together than the romance. Ruby thought about Liam sometimes but she was always doing other things and not just pining for a boy. Definitely just a layer and not the focus. I think she will be able to keep that format for the next one. It seems like it will be action packed too.

Ashleigh You guys are all leaving fancy comments and I'm like: The book was perfect. End of story.

Nah just kidding you all make some great points but girls do like romance and this book gave just enough not to cloud up the story line. Also being a girl just my main concern in this series is if Liam and Ruby get back together. But I love the story line and the awesome story line + the romance is what made this my favourite book.

message 72: by Ikao (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ikao I do love the romance, and hope Ruby and Liam will end up together. But I love all the parts of story, I love the supernatural psi power, really excited to know what will happen with the goverment, and children's league. They are going to be a big deal! It's not only Liam that I'm afraid to. I'm dreading to know what happen to Chubs and Zu too.

I cried on the ending, but the first time I cried while reading this book was when I read chapter 19. Bracken made it beautiful with or without romance, but of course I'm very blessed because there is romance.

Michelle Ilenich The book was just so amazing! I took it to school to read on my free time, but tons of kids were interested in reading it. Every time I got it back, someone else will be asking to borrow it. It's just one of those universal books that appeals to everyone. Books are usually thought to be gender specified, but not this one. Some of my guy friends have borrowed it and loved it! I think it's awesome how a book can appeal to a wide audience.

Daisy97 Zajicek I read this book in May and I thought it was pretty good. Very original! I do wish there had been a bit more romance. And I almost never say that about a book.

message 75: by Suzy (new) - rated it 4 stars

Suzy I got into this series pretty late even though I'd been hearing about it for a while. I really really really enjoyed this book. I loved Ruby, she is such a good character and I loved seeing her grow after she met up with Liam and the gang. And speaking of them, how awesome were they? Liam is super cute, Chubs is absolutely hilarious, and Zu reminded me of a little sister you just want to protect. Clancy is the one I'm still trying to make up my mind on I can't decide if I despise him or just love him as the twisted guy with maybe soft spot for Ruby. Just like what some people said, I wasn't completely blown away by the book because I was able to see certain plot points coming, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the ride. I loved how the characters felt like normal people and the world didn't seem so far off considering I knew all the pop culture references. Overall, awesome book! Cannot wait to start reading book 2 :)

Kelly I absolutely loved it. Some might think that I'm crazy, but I actually enjoyed it more than Divergent by Veronica Roth, which is really surprising, since I am one of the biggest divergent fans. This book is so amazingly written and you fall in love with the characters. I just finished it and I already want to read it again, it was that good!

I thought that it was just intense kissing I didn't really get the sense that it went beyond that. Wasn't she kind of unconscious though? I didn't really get if he went into her mind and made her kiss him or if she just dreamed the whole thing 0.0

As for the note, I remember Clancy saying something about Ruby running to him as soon as she heard he was in danger and she'd asked if he'd do the same and I think he initially said he wouldn't....or that he'd walk....I don't remember it exactly. So the note was basically him saying that if she was in trouble he'd run to help her too >.<

Bronte The darkest minds never fade in the after light

Woohoo I wonder what it means!! :0

message 79: by Tris (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tris I really really really like this book!!!!! The ending was really bad though!!!!!! And my library doesn't have it yet. Ugh!!!!!!!

Solice i just finished the book and it is amazing, love all of the characters and i can't wait to see what happens in the next book, but im seriously worried about the future it doesn't seem like there could possibly be a happy ending for ruby, and almost every single friend she makes is taken or forced away from her. i don't think ive ever come across such interesting stories and personalities for the characters either.

Solice also i'm kinda confused on this note, when clancy did that mind thing to ruby, did he manipulate her into sleeping with him ? or was it just kissing ? i kind of got the feeling it was the former but im not sure

It was just kissing. But he pretty much mind raped her.

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

I just finished it And I'm a little confused did clancy rape ruby? When he froze her and she blacked out?

But the rest of the book was AMAZING but that ending though ugh my heart hurts!

Maybe mind raped but not the actual physical act. He did kiss her without her permission though. Still it was an invasion.

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks I was a little confused :)

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

But clancy disappeared! I wonder if he is gonna be in the other books and will they turn this into a movie that would be awesome! And Chubs! How many books are in the series?

Robin (Bridge Four) There will be 3 total. Clancy is in the next book and the way it ended I'm sure he will be in the final one too.

But you will have to read the next one to see who else shows up :P In Time is the novella right after The Darkest Minds and then Never Fade

Angel DO YOU GUYS WANT TO BE IN MY GROUP!!

I agree with all of that. Love Liam SO MUCH! Ruby's pretty great too. The end absolutely positively KILLED me. I wanted to cry, and do a mental 'noooooooooooooo!!!!!'

Darcy Beckett Hiya! I bought this book on Amazon and it came all the way from america (I live in North-West England) and was so excited when it came through the post! I opened it up and pulled it out of the box, starting it straight away.

It was a little hard to get into and, (Please dont kill me) I was seriously questioning what all the fuss was about. BUT, i kept on reading and after about 100 pages it got awesome and now im soo excited to buy Never Fade! Its gonna be awesome. The ending to The Darkest Minds has left me wanting more. xxx

Yeah, it was a bit hard to get into in the beginning, but once you get going you just can't stop! :)

Brittany This book is SO GOOD!! I read it a couple months ago because the BookTube community was raving about it, and I was not disappointed. I agree, as a lot of people have already said, it is a little slow in the beginning. I can't remember getting hooked until she met Chubs, Zu, and Liam, but after that it was impossible to put down! One thing that really impressed me about this book was the character development. All of the characters grew so much throughout the duration of the story, and I was really impressed by that. I also think that Bracken created a wonderful villian! I mean, I hate Clancy's guts, but that's what makes a good villian! He is so clever and cunning and terrible and I want to know his secrets and backstory so bad! The ending was also heartbreaking, although I felt like what Ruby did was out of love and was the right thing to do. Liam is my favorite character in this book... *swoon* I honestly have no idea why this book is not more popular, it is FANTASTIC!

Brittany Solice wrote: "also i'm kinda confused on this note, when clancy did that mind thing to ruby, did he manipulate her into sleeping with him ? or was it just kissing ? i kind of got the feeling it was the former bu..."

Just kissing, but I am pretty sure he took advantage of her through her thoughts, since he is an Orange.

Divergent is my favorite book of all time, but I liked The Darkest Minds about equally as much if not more than The Hunger Games!

Annaw The end sniff sniff That mustve been so horrible SHE BETTER FIX IT IN THE 3RD BOOK but i get it i kinda liked it at least she still loves him and it was sweet she did it so he wouldnt get hurt aaaa the feels

Annaw AMAZI NG BOOK ALL I HAVE TO SAY AMAZZZING

message 97: by Kiki0289 (new)

Kiki0289 This book was amazing. You should definitely read it. As for the new Ruby thing, I think that her parents had another child that's five or six ish since Ruby had been gone for six years and since they completely forgot about Ruby but still knew they wanted to name their child Ruby, that's what they named their new kid. The thing I really like about this book is how in book descriptions they leave questions at the end to get you to start reading but you know that it will end with the odds in the character's favor or at least can predict how it's going to end but with this book, you have absolutely no idea. I knew that this book was going to be sad and in multiple parts at the end I was like "ok this has to be the sad part everyone was talking about" but the actual sad part turned out to completely surprise me.

message 98: by Jojo (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jojo When I read it, I thought that the other Ruby may have been the grandmother because you never learn her first name and it is not like the answering machine would say "...and grandma". I also think this because we never meet another child and I feel like that would have been mentioned again

message 99: by me (new) - rated it 5 stars

me myself and i This is a great book and I will definitely reread and reread over and over again. i was so sad when Ruby erased Liam's memories!!! although i knew it was the right choice ;( I hope they meet and Liam will remember ruby again... And what happens to Chubs???? I need Chubs... Hope she finds her parents and fix them, and also her grandma and Liam's family and Chubs's family... And Zuuuu! she is sooo cute! That Clancy asshole better get killed in the next book.
