The original draft had several pages that went into much greater detail about Tom's adventures with the "other, other" white meat. I decided to scrap it to make the story more tasteful (pun intended).
Good thing, or else it sounds like you might have ruined your Kindle.

Yes, thank god the worst thing I have ever actually managed to do to my Kindle was to sneeze on it - though that wasn't book induced!

Check out MikesFilmTalk - a great blog about a lot of fun things!

Just wanted to take the time to drop in and give a big shout out to Evans Light for giving me the opportunity to read Screamscapes and offer my humble opinion on the book. It is a collection of Evan's short stories and novellas and it is great. If you don't like one story - no worries; there are plenty more. I did enjoy nearly all of the writing in this book. My favorites were Crawlspace, ArborEATum, The Mole People Beneath the City, and Curtains for Love. There was only one short story that I didn't like. The release date of this book is early June. Thanks again Evans and I look forward to reading more of your writing!
Cindy,
Thanks so much for your contribution towards making SCREAMSCAPES a better reading experience! Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Corpus Press is The Light Brothers publishing platform. It is a real thing, just not a public facing company at this point in time.

I look forward to reading more of your work.

Oh and we had a crawlspace between bedrooms growing up and the entrance was in my older brother's room. At night he used to sneak in there, crawl all the way around so he was within the wall in my bedroom and make evil ghost sounds and scare the hell out of me...I think I was 6 or 7...older brother are so much fun huh :O)
Excerpt from an interview, about CRAWLSPACE:
"I love exploring sensory limits and confronting personal fears, and some people have asked me if CRAWLSPACE was born out of time spent in sensory deprivation tanks. It was not a connection I would have made, because to me the inner space that can be explored in that environment is as limitless as the external universe.
The inspiration for CRAWLSPACE was born out of actual life experiences. For about a week as a young teen, I was forced to work underneath an aging house, spreading plastic sheeting and lime after school. I’d work under there for a couple hours at a time. The situation was pretty much exactly as described in the story.
Anyway, the person who owned the house made no bones about his opinion that his life would have been a lot better without me in it. After several days of working alone in the crawlspace spreading lime, I was in the far corner of the house where the clearance overhead was very low. I tried to get every spot covered to avoid punishment later, but as I tried to get the lime into a particularly snug spot I got stuck between the house and the ground. I panicked, and began to scream; it was the closest thing to being buried alive I’ve ever experienced, and it was terrifying.
After a few moments the person making me work under the house poked his head into the tiny crawlspace door, some forty feet away, his dark eyes barely visibly in the dim light of the single bulb. As he understood my predicament, a look of evil pleasure crossed over his face. I knew what he was thinking.
I got myself unstuck and out from under the house as fast as I could, thankful that he hadn’t turned off the light and locked the door behind him. I also made the decision that I would never allow that person to get between me and the crawlspace exit ever again."

Really, Evans is my older brother, so I was the one that suffered unending torture sessions at his merciless hands. I'm bigger than him now, so he moved far away so I couldn't dole out any retribution without having to travel. I'm just too old for all that, so he is safe... for now.

Haha! Nice, Steven. I hope for all our sakes we get slow zombies, too. I don't like those fast ones one bit.

You're a tad passive-aggressive, so thinking back on it now maybe you DID have something to do with it and made me think it was someone else!

Please, Evans. I would never have dreamed of shutting you up in a dark and foreboding nightmare hellhole. I'm simply not capable of such inhumane tactics.

Haven't seen or read World War Z yet. So I am not sure about the reference, but I am intrigued by these cake orders you have been getting. I'm sure you have some good stories.
