Nice, did you ask to take a picture with Neil Gaiman? I totally would have :D.
I was following along on the twitter feed for The World's End panel with Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost this morning. Next best thing to being there I guess!

Unfortunately, I did not ask him for a pic. He was being dragged along by a woman who was very determined. I think they were late for a party and he was probably getting stopped a lot.
I will definitely have to check out that panel. We weren't crazy enough to get in the line to get in that panel, but I heard it was fantastic!
This weekend has just been fun overload.

@Teadrinkingcat, don't feel badly about the ticket thing at SDCC. I get a professional badge and those went so fast I had to pull strings to get one! It seems the young turks at the movie studios gobbled them up and were crowing about it on Twitter et al. Seriously annoying.
Yep, I'm afraid the movie studios have pretty much taken over but there are still plenty of panels about comics and the opportunity to buy comics and talk to people who draw and make comics. And that's the part I dearly love! The crowds and the hooplah are all part of the experience and everyone should try it at least once.

Anyways, I was able to get to SDCC this year for Friday and Saturday, and it was a great amount of fun, for me at least. I got to wear my brand new Arwen cosplay, and see Tom Cruise and Karl Urban (at a distance). I completed my collection of FMA Manga, bought some signed artwork from artist's alley, a new Hobbit poster, and talk to the designer of the DC comic collectable figurines who really liked my catwoman costume (blush). I didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted at the Weta Workshop booth because my sister was dragging me around as she looked for something else (boohoo). I spent all of time time in the main hall looking at comic books, getting my picture taken (something common for anyone in cosplay), talking with fans. I don't go much for the panels (Sorry). But I had a really great time! I wish I could have shared it with all of you, and for those of you that did go, we'll have to plan a meet up for pictures or something next year! I'll have some pictures to share soon!

Oh, one really big complaint I heard of this year was the Hall H thing. They don't clear out the room between panels, therefore if like the Breaking Bad Panel was the first one, a lot of Doctor Who and Supernatural fans would have been watching it even if they don't like it, just so they could get really good seats for the SPN panels and DW panels, which I think is bullcrap. That means a lot of BB fans would show up and not be able to get seats because other fandoms just want to see their own shows.

None of us cosplayed... Though, I did wear my Ellis (From Left 4 Dead 2) Shirt and Hat. We actually got the tickets at the last moment! We wouldn't have gotten the tickets if it were not for Facebook!!
And we almost didn't get my ticket, because my email for comic-con was the wrong email (I didn't have that email anymore...) But, thankfully, I still got it! Next year (Hopefully we'll get to go.) My mom and sister are going to cosplay as Daft Punk! And I want to do a good cosplay of Ellis from Left 4 Dead 2 or someone. But, we had a really good time. Lots of walking. (And, up in the cafe, there was a house centipede!!) It was really fun. Got lots of free stuff too! And there were really cool cosplays, we took A LOT of pictures.

This was actually a problem at Calgary Expo this year as well - they didn't clear out the Corral (equitable to Hall H in SDCC, the Corral seats about 5000 I think), so a bunch of people went in really early, and then just stayed there all day, making it impossible for me, who had other things to do earlier in the day on the show floor, get in for Nathan Fillion or Walking Dead.
Totally bunk.
While I understand it's ridiculous to clear out thousands of people in between panels, maybe organizers should give longer than 15 or so minutes into the panel to make it fair for everybody? Say half an hour, or even an hour? Open up another big hall and stagger the biggest panels that way?
I mean, there's got to be something that's more of a fair solution.

Grace, sounds like you had a lot of fun! The main Hall is so full of great stuff, you could spend a couple of days just wandering around in there, you know? Haha!

I also heard that they're just not going to change the venue because of a very long-standing and good relationship they have with the convention centre. I remember hearing about this a few years ago when it really started to grow in size.

Here are some pictures of me at the con!!"
