Alain Gomez | 8 comments Reddit is formed around "sub-reddits" which are like communities. For example, people would post their cat pictures under /r/cat. So I started /r/webfiction a few months back in an effort to help spread the word about my scifi blog. So if you'd like to join, stop on by!

Actual link here: http://www.reddit.com/r/webfiction/

The more people in the community the better so we can up vote each other. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

S.G. (s-girl) | 54 comments Alain - have you looked at http://www.reddit.com/r/WritingHub to post info about the webfiction group? You might also explain that it's a group that should cover serials. The terminology right now is in flux, and I see more traction in media stories under 'serials" thanks to Amazon and Margaret Atwood's efforts.

Dan Bonser This is definitely something on reddit that as been lacking. I know for my entire blog, reddit is useless. The poetry subreddit you can't post links, and my articles are normally too serious to appeal to the humor of redditors. I check through reddit every now and then for a place to post my webfiction, and most of the reddits that cater to writing are all more about market news.

I'll definitely join up!

I'll check out writinghub and see what they have. There is a webserial reddit but I more or less got kicked out when I tried posting there. Right now web serial actively refers to videos. And I guess there's a huge following for them. They're posted on YouTube and stuff.

I've been messing around with reddit for the past few weeks. I've had a few posts of mine go viral even. In order to get attention on that site you have to start with a supportive niche group. That's where all my viral ones started. It's almost impossible to make a hit in some of the big ones like /r/funny because there are people right off the bat that will downvote "just because."

So we can get maybe two dozen people in webfiction that actively helps to upvote it will definitely make blog links more visible.

Yeah, that Niche thing is why reddit is typically not good for me, as my blog is technically 'nicheless'. But yeah, if we can get people going in that group it would be a huge deal for us in the webfiction serial business.

Well there's now 10 subscribers in the group! Woohoo! Progress =) I've also noticed a little traffic to my blog from reddit. A first for me!

I talked to the person in charge of writinghub and supposedly webfiction is going to be listed there.

S.G. (s-girl) | 54 comments Yeah I decided to post about it at Webfiction Guide. There is a small but active group hanging at the forums. Sorry about the sudden flurry - I posted the note and then had to do a lot of stuff at the office and forgot to tell them that sometimes new posters get caught up in the spam thing.

I will tweet the reddit info at a few other entities on twitter, if that's okay ...

Noel Goetz | 6 comments Everyone here has probably heard of, or is listed at 'Web fiction Guide' @ webfictionguide.com, but recently I've had alot more readers come to my story from there. I also got a pretty good unsolicited review for my online serial 'Cardinal Meadows'. It wasn't a five star review, but it was encouraging none-the-less. To see the review go to- http://webfictionguide.com/listings/c... A month or so ago I posted a synopsis and the first Chapter with a link at the end. It's really worked out well, and if you haven't posted there yet, it might be worth considering.

I don't mind at all! I think it's great. Thanks for the shout outs.

I added to the sidebar that the spam filter thing could be a problem and to PM me if they think they've been caught.
