Jennifer | 2 comments Help, I am trying to find the title of a book I read as an excerpt. It was a historical romance set in England. The guy is running from someone (can't remember if it was an angry husband or spy related). He ducks into a building where a woman is being questioned by a group of what could be Quaker elders about her lover. They are asking for her to give a name. In an attempt to help her, the guy steps forward and names himself. She is visibly thankful to see him and accept his help. There is a simple exchange of words with the elders and they end up married. He leaves her behind thinking the marriage is not legal, but she ends up at his home the next morning.

I thought this was Ian Eversea's story in the Pennyroyal Green series, but the next book that came out was not his. I think it is part of a family saga type series. He is definitely a lord, but might be a younger son. Publish date would have been between 2009-2012.

D | 1 comments Could it be a Robin Schone book? Seems to me that I read one of hers that was kinda like that. Think it was called "The Lady's Tutor".

Jennifer | 2 comments I really thought it was a Pennyroyal Green book. It is possible the exerpt was in the back of one of those books. Since I thought it was Ian's story, I think that was the character's name.
I might be mixing up my stories here, but it is possible this story continues right after the previous book in its series where he was a minor secondary character involved in a drunken garden/balcony confession that did not go well for him. -I know, not very helpful.
