Mia;emma okay,i know this is weird but am i the only one who doesnt seem to figure out what haymitch actually means?i mean in mockingjay it accussed him of betrayin Katniss but i seriously dont understand at all.
Did he or did he not do something against Katniss?
Please answer, this question is bugging me.

Melissa Mayberry It's been about a year since I've read THG. Can you remind me with more detail? I remember Haymitch choosing Peta for something over that left Katniss out. I thought that was in The Hunger Games, (the first book).

Mia;emma well i hardly remember. so all i can say is that he just kept disappearing and it made no sense and also something else happened but i cant quite grasp it so i really need to be updated by a THG fan big time, any offers?

Gretchen Katniss felt betrayed when Haymitch did not tell her about the plan to get her out of the games. Everyone knew that the goal was to breach the games and get people out but her. All of the additional Tributes (on their side)knew that the goal was to save the Mockinyjay for the rebellion. Additionally she was angered that Haymitch left Peeta. Although if I remember right he told her if it was up to him he would have gotten Peeta and not her.
I would suggest that if you don't remember any of this you might enjoy going back and rereading the book.

Mia;emma yes,i remember that but i got confused if he was involved with Coin or not?
i really do love these books but i cant bring myself to read them again because i dont think theyre the type of book to read twice. Dont get me wrong,i always read my books twice and maybe even three times but i cant do it for THG.

Melissa Mayberry I think I will Gretchen. Good suggestion

Gretchen Cool Melissa. I find that with a lot of books the second or third time I read them I always discover things I never noticed before when I was focused on the plot and just seeing where things were going to go. It's fun to go back and reread all the details.

Ericka Scott Nelson I think Katniss is often upset at Haymitch and others because she seems left out of the loop a lot. She's not one of the manipulators of the action. She's never entrusted with the whole agenda and yet she's always expected to play a pivotal role. Her anger at Haymitch may be greater because there's a sense that, although they don't like each other, they understand each other. Also, as a mentor, he should have her back more than just about anybody.

Kirby Gretchen wrote: "Although if I remember right he told her if it was up to him he would have gotten Peeta and not her."

yeah, I remember that. he also told her that it was partly her fault for letting herself get separated from peeta.

Kirstyn He left her out of the whole plan to overthrow the capital and get the contestants out of the arena.

Mochaspresso I think that overall, Katniss had issues with constantly being used as a pawn in someone else's "game". Whether it be The Hunger Games or the rebellion.
