Hello, I love Steampunk genre and I'd be interested to know if there are some good graphic novels on that genre. I've already read The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Vol. 1 and sequel, so does anyone know of more comics in that style? Any idea would be highly welcome, thanks.

Sérgio | 460 comments Hi there Cordelia

I know a couple of good ones.

The Arctic Marauder

A great satire of Jules Verne novels in a gorgeous fake wood engraving style.

Great Walls of Samaris: Stories of the Fantastic Series

The visual design of the fantasy cities in this book is very influenced by early 20th century architecture. Really great looking stuff.

thank you very much Sérgio, I'll check the editions available of your suggestions, they sound like my cup of tea.

Ross Kitson (rossmkitson) | 23 comments Would recommend Bryan Talbot's work: The Adventures Of Luther Arkwright and Grandville and both their sequels. Astonishingly good.

Brenda Clough (brendaclough) | 163 comments You can hardly fail with GIRL GENIUS, available on line. The Foglios essentially helped define the genre with this ongoing web comic.

Jay Walsh | 2 comments If you want to go with some classics, I'd recommend:

The Somnabulist – Jonathan Barnes
Infernal Devices – K.W. Jeter
The Prophecy Machine – Neal Barrett, Jr.

Thomas Carter | 4 comments Ex machina by Brian k. Vaughn

It takes place in New York City but has a nice gritty feel that has that gives off a nice steampunk feel. Not a whole hearted piece of steampunk genre, but it is an AMAZiNG read!!!

Heart of Empire: Εμμμ that one, I ain't so sure if it should be categorised as 'steampunk'
then 'Freakangels' despite the 'setting' and the different approach of the team, after the Gov officials 'ganged up' on them.. [Tome 5 I tihnk] went on a copmletely different road

At the time, I think eve n Ellis had no clue, as to what his 'story arc' should form to in the 'future to come' I wonder how far he has gone, with that..
