Idan Many people will stone me to death because of this, but i think that The Lord of The Rings movies are better than the books.

Samanta The Bone Collector....one of my favorite movies. Tried to read the book, and just couldn't read it to the end.

AlexKw The Wizard of Oz.
Jurassic Park.

Matilda Rose I thought The Perks of Being A Wallflower movie was better than the book, which shocked me because it was a first. And amazingly, (when you consider Hunger Games) Catching Fire I liked just as much, nearly more, the movie as compared to the book.

I found the book to be quite silly after reading LotR. Too childish. But Peter Jackson made the movie wonderful."

you do realize Tolkien did intend for it to be a children's story? I hope to pass the story off to my son.

Eleanor honestly... I like the Percy Jackson movie better than the books... felt like the plot was better.

Jeff Pedersen I didn't see a mention of Stephen King's novella "The Mist," I thought the book and the movie were really close, but the movie had such an excellent ending, as sad as it may have been. also they took a couple of things out of it that just didn't make sense in the novella. one of them was a part where two of the characters went off to have sex. Now I am not a prude or anything I just feel that you wouldn't have sex with a clerk because you haven't seen your wife in twenty-four hours while all those things were going on.
Don't get me wrong I love Stephen King, but that part made me go, "Really? Really, Mr. King?"

But the books are much better and can go into more detail than producers can find most of the time

Parker Personally? I think that the How to Train Your Dragon movie was WAY better than the book. They completely changed the plot, but the original plot wasn't nearly as good. And the whole thing was originally kind of strange.

Well, when it comes to The Host, definatly not! But probably. All the books and movies I've read and seen are either equal or the book is better

Euraylie For me it's The English Patient...good book, but phenomenal movie; one of my all-time favourites.

Dora Pongrac "The bridges of Madison" county is the only movie that is better than the book.
