the gunpowder plot

Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a book on the gunpowder plot?

I've started two and haven't been impressed with either. I tried Desperate Remedy by Martin Stephan and The Firemaster's Mistress by Christie Dickason. I'm really curious about the history but I didn't care for the fictional characters in either of these books.

I don't know anything about the gunpowder plot at all besides the name. Sorry! I'm sure someone here knows something though.
