I was just trying to decide what books to pick up next and realized last year I read a lot of firsts. The first Dresden Files, Lies of Locke Lamora, The Painted Man, a couple Sword of Truth's... not to mention books from other series I've fallen behind on while reading all those. This year I'm going to concentrate on reading at least the next book of each series-before I start yet another book 1 of something. While keeping up on my S&L picks of course!

I had thought precisely the same thing; there are far too many series I'm reading that have stalled part-way through, so I really should finish them!
I hadn't thought of it, and now I do, I agree it's a good resolution for the new year. I'm going to try it myself too.
Maybe I should try finishing more books.
Yeah im with you on this, thats exactly what I have been intending to do, I have 3 series to get through and im going to work my way through them the beginning of this year, apart from the picks and subsequent books, im only gonna read these books.
This sounds like a very good idea. I might join you in this challenge. I'm also trying to read some books from genres I wouldn't normally choose (i.e something not sci-fi fantasy or horror) to take me out of my comfort zone this year

@Kevin-yea. Have to just do it again next year with the book 2's for this years picks :P
So I'm on the third book of my quest to read the next book in each series I started in the last year (or so) and I have to say this is super fun. It's been very cool to revisit the characters!
