I am 6 books ahead of reading 60 books this year. I am kind of shooting for 75. However I usually average between 50-60 books. I tend to read more during the Pacific Northwest rainy months. I usually don't read as much in the summer time when the weather is nice.

I finished the "Hedgehog" book! : D
I can't tell you how good it feel to day that, though the ending left me rather sniffly. Now...time to see how much I can catch up this month! : )

Thanks, The -- now I don't feel so bad, lol. Here's hoping you make some headway and catch up a bit this month!

Great work, you're on track!
Being on track makes me nervous, obviously I'm not spending enough time reading lately! If I could just get off the darned computer.

Wow - 350 is almost a book a day! Do you usually have more than one book going at a time?

Well, it's about to get worse for me. I'm waiting on A Feast for Crows but the good news is there are 3 people ahead of me on the list so I won't see it for a couple of weeks (I hope).

I'm impressed! In the last year I have started reading more than one book at a time - different formats (Kindle book, audiobook, short stories, poetry collection, etc), but even so I won't come close to a book a day.

So far it isn't working.

I had to laugh. Connie Willis, an excellent writer, said in a talk she gave that her husband has instructions to throw a few books into her coffin in case there's a waiting area in the hereafter.

I like the idea of having a book buried with me. Might have to leave instructions of that sort since I always have a book with me here now, might as well have one for eternity.
I managed to read two books in two days (both YA -- one per day) last week, so am now only two books behind, and currently about 3/4 of the way through another. Slowly catching up!
ETA: Update, 8:30pm -- make that one book behind. Have just finished the book I started Saturday. Onward and upward! *G*

Sigh...must be nice. Is still MUCH too cold for reading outdoors.

If it's any consolation, we're passing each other at the crossroads, so to speak. You're awaiting Spring and we're being dragged kicking and screaming into Autumn. Soon you'll be out in glorious weather and I'll be huddled up under 6 quilts watching it rain outside and asking myself "why did I leave Florida???"
Huddled under six quilts...sounds a lot like me in winter, LOL. As for Florida...much as I dislike extreme cold, that's a bit too warm for me. Especially as I burn and never tan...darn Nordic complexion. :-\

I read 100 last year. My goal this year is just to keep track but to intermingle some non-fiction. My friends keep telling me about these great books and then I just go read a mystery.

I used to read on the MetroLink (commuter train) when I was working. Several times I missed my stop, going & coming, and then had to get off and travel back.

I just re-read Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters. I think I read that about once a year.

My sister-in-law moved to FLA recently. She's happy because here in Illinois we had 12 inches of snow this past Sunday. Brrr. But good weather for reading.

I've done that a time or two - or nearly done it - while riding the bus. Thankfully, I've never had to go more than one stop past the one I wanted.

Yes! I am back on track...for the time being anyway. Not only are novellas helpful in catching up or getting ahead, so too are YA novels. I owe my catching up (and a few late nights, lol) to Ally Carter and Lois Lowry.
Jennifer: Lucky you!
Catherine: Aw, you can do twenty easy-peasy. We'll gladly bully or cheer you on, what ever works best for you. ;-D

Great! :)

I've had the same goal (100) for three or four years now, and have only managed to do a couple over that each year. Right now I am 68 pages from the end of book 33 for the year, so am still "on track." Am sure to finish this one before bed tonight.
