Apiring Authors, do ..."
I think this is a great suggestion, Cynthia. When we indie published Revolution Earth in June 2012 I found the blog posts of fellow indie author Rachel Abbott really inspiring. Rachel has had huge success but still takes the time to update her blog with very helpful suggestions.
The second really useful website I found wasALLIa - the Alliance of Independent Authors, is a non-profit membership organisation with members throughout the world. I have had more benefit out of my ALLIa membership than I did in many years of belonging to the Writers Guild. Revolution Earth

Take time to think.
Hone your skills.
Go where you have to go, don't follow the crowd even if the allure of their success is hard to resist.
