message 1661: by LastBreath (new)

LastBreath (last_breath) | 242 comments Just finished The Iron Duke (Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook . Finally an intelligent female heroine who isn't a prude or virtuous female, that knows how to take ownership and get the job done. Even more surprising, Meljean Brooks is a female author (up till now I've only ever come across male authors who deliver strong heroines like this!)

By and by, I'm sated, grinning devilishly and about to start Heart of Steel (Iron Seas, #2) by Meljean Brook .

message 1671: by Alisa (last edited Feb 18, 2014 06:35PM) (new)

Alisa I haven't posted in forever cause I've only been reading CR and murder mysteries. Starting Sleeping With the Wolf (After the Crash #1) by Maddy Barone though which is futuristic shifters and listening to Kill You Twice (Gretchen Lowell, #5) by Chelsea Cain on audio. I've read all the other books in that series and I knew it was really dark but for some reason it's much darker on audio. Hearing all the serial killer stuff is worse than reading it for me. Still a good story though. I'm also listening to White Trash Zombie Apocalypse (White Trash Zombie, #3) by Diana Rowland on audio but I'm not enjoying this book as well as the first two. It's just ok for me.

What is CR??
Crime romance?

Yeah Zombie Apocalypse was not that great it took me like three months to get through on audio

message 1673: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments CR is generally contemporary romance. Sometimes slips over to romantic suspense.

Is this your first time reading The Hollows? If so I love them and hope you will too.

I finished This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost and liked it but not as much as the previous ones. Now I'm reading Marked (Eternal Guardians, #1) by Elisabeth Naughton on my Kindle and I'm liking it so far I also really like that I get to read a UF/PA that takes place in my State for once. Hoping to finish it before The Undead Pool (The Hollows, #12) by Kim Harrison comes in the mail. Because I'll probably stop whatever I'm reading to read that one.

I recently finishedPhoenix Rising and The Janus Affair: A Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences Novel and I loved them. I am waiting for the next one that comes out next month. Does anyone have a recommendation for that is similar to those? I loved the Victorian era streamlining nature with the mystery. I tried Soulless but I just couldn't get into it.
