Sandra | 4734 comments Amazon, keeps sending me recs for Indexing. LOL.

Just finished Ill Wind (Weather Warden, #1) by Rachel Caine which has been around forever, but I just got around to it. Kicking myself for not reading it sooner!

Me to which is why I borrowed it. The story is not bad but it feels like I stepped in the middle of it and I cannot understand why the characters are doing things. Then all the police code is driving me nuts.

You know Ill Wind was off to a good start not sure why I never went farther with that series!

message 1453: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments Well, I've got all the WW series books and the spinoffs cause Judithe read them earlier in the yr and raved about them, so I picked them up when I saw them cheap. Looking forward to reading the rest of them :)

Indexing does sound good in synopsis, so, Amazon, must be pushing it for monetary reasons then :(

message 1454: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I think it was originally a short story series where you got like two a month.

It was highly recommended by a few people because I love fairy tales but I am not sure if I am still burnt out on the who police drama or if I just dislike the main character but if I had to read one more line about this is a four oh one not a three oh six I was going to throw my kindle across the room.

Also lucky you on the WW series!!!

Indexing started out as a Kindle Serial and Amazon does make some extra money on those titles. I get them pretty regularly because the format reminds me so comic books. All that aside I really did enjoy Indexing. I'm hoping that she continues writing stories about this group. I say go back to it later and try again. I didn't like Rosemary and Rue (October Daye, #1) by Seanan McGuire the first time I tried to read it. Now I love Toby and her crew.

message 1457: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments Ahhh, thanks Mike, that explains why they keep reccing me Indexing.

Reading Thankless in Death (In Death, #37) by J.D. Robb - be kind to your kids or you too could end up a homicide. No spoiler as we all know what's happening from the first page.

Karena (karenafagan) Reading the Cassie Palmer series by Karen Chance and have the Dorina Basarab series ready.

message 1459: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

message 1460: by Karena (new)

Karena (karenafagan) I tried reading the Cassie Palmer series last year and it must have been a bad time because I couldn't get into it because this time I'm just zipping through them. I'm on Curse the Dawn at the moment.

message 1462: by Alisa (last edited Dec 18, 2013 05:17PM) (new)

Alisa I did a re-read of Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between (Rhiannon's Law, #1) by J.A. Saare and then read The Renfield Syndrome (Rhiannon's Law, #2) by J.A. Saare and The Ripple Effect (Rhiannon's Law, #3) by J.A. Saare I enjoyed the first two a lot. Had a few moments in the last one where Rhianna was pushing close to having TSTL moments. Really? You didn't realize you were putting Disco & Paine in danger w/your actions until the end? And speaking of Paine. Not happy w/that storyline. Not. Happy. At. All.

Did you see that this book is selling for over $4000 on Amazon? http://www.amazon.com/Ripple-Effect-J...

message 1463: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Currently reading The Magpie Lord (A Charm of Magpies, #1) by K.J. Charles and A Case of Possession (A Charm of Magpies, #2) by K.J. Charles Kind of different from what I usually read but I like them so far.

Seriously. Isn't that craziest thing? The author's whole thing about stopping publishing those books was she was upset over ebook sharing. Seems to me this is just promoting ebook sharing cuz who the hell can pay that for the print book?

If she keeps that up all she will do is turn off her fan base.

I've read that too. Hopefully she will get it all worked out soon. Never so glad I bought a series forever ago and let it languish on my kindle. LOL

altough I guess I should have gotten it in print. I could sell it for $1000 and undercut the competition. :)

It would be a way to make some quick cash. Although I think anyone would be an idiot to pay that much!

I noticed it was only one seller trying to make a quick twelve grand off of three copies of the book. I don't know anything about the author or series, but I'm pretty sure it's not the Gutenberg Bible!! Jeez! Extortionists hack me off!! As far as I could tell they weren't even autographed copies.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Finished
Cold Magic (Spiritwalker, #1) by Kate Elliott this was a good story but it takes awhile to get going and I think the beginning of the book is just to wordy but the second half amazing.

By a Thread (Elemental Assassin, #6) by Jennifer Estep ok this a great book -I love that she did not recap every dang thing!!! I really am not a fan of Bria so most of the book I wanted to drop kick her. I also wanted to smack Donnovan so I was really glad when he got punched. While it is a good story especally Owen - I think he has a short story I want to read. Anyway great story but is it just me or is Gin like the worst assassin ever?? I mean she blabs it to everyone - I guess secrecy is not really needed. Beyond that why does she run at everyone?? I mean you have magical power why not use it?? Heck even the vampire figured that one out. Also you used the luggage cart to tote a dead body??? Geez!

message 1477: by Mike (new)

Mike | 353 comments Finished The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive, #1) by Brandon Sanderson it was really good. There were some slow parts but it is 1200 pages long so that is to be expected. Overall though it was very good and I can't wait for the next one. Also it is 2.99 on Amazon and Nook right now. Now to finish NOS4A2 by Joe Hill , Late Eclipses (October Daye, #4) by Seanan McGuire , and I Love Lucid by Mark Lingane .

I have a love/hate relationship with the Gin Blanco series. She has a great premise, but the constant recapping and sometimes not using Gin to her full potential annoys me. Also Owen does have a novella that was pretty insightful into his character. I don't always read novellas, but this one was good.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) OMG finally finished Ship of Magic (Liveship Traders, #1) by Robin Hobb only took forever. while i did enjoy it its not one of my fave's. it was rather slow paced, non of that flying by the edge of your pants feeling that i love.

not sure what i'll be reading next

Me too!! I swear she is the worst assassin ever EVER lol. Just once I want her to kill someone without almost dying herself or at minimum get away cleanly.

I just brought the novella and I am looking forward to it. Glad to know it was worth the money :-)

Karena (karenafagan) I just finished Angel's Ink and found it remarkably good. Did it do anything crazy? Not particularly, but it's definitely a world I'd like to explore some more. I just started Dark Currents and then I'll try the next book for the Asylum Tales Dead Man's Deal.

I could only find this, which in the comments she says she would like to extend past 12 books. It was in September. Was there somewhere more recent that the final number is verified?

I listened to The Warlord Wants Forever (Immortals After Dark, #1) by Kresley Cole while cleaning and wrapping presents the other day. Finally going to stop being the only person who hasn't read IAD. I'm on my way........ Wahoo. Only 12 more to go. :)

But I'm on vacation now and my husband bought me a Kindle Fire Hd for Christmas so I've been checking out all the awesome books that I can get on that. I've downloaded a bunch of free ones and even read one which was Birth of the Nyxian (The Immortal Choice, #1) by Amanda R. Browning that I really liked. But I borrowed the ebook version of River Marked (Mercy Thompson, #6) by Patricia Briggs from the library and now I'm reading that.
