There were a lot of parallels with the Shining that made perfect sense to me. I have seen a lot of negative reviews from people ,even those claiming to be part of the Constant Reader club, but I disagree with them. Was it as good as The Shining? In it's way yes, but it really can't compete with a book that has been people's favorite for so many years. King even admits this himself.

Maybe I should do a reread :-)

I'm just past the half way mark - I'm buddy reading with a friend and became a little excited and shot through the first half of the book, that's how much I was enjoying myself. Lol
I finished
Love this author, love this series. This lived up to my expectations. Also read
which sadly did not live up to my expectations. The first half was good. The last half made me want to throat punch the author. Hard. Repeatedly. Now reading
which is a shifter book where the alpha is gay and looking for his mate. I'm not far enough along in it to have an opinion but there is a cute scene at the begining where his 80 something year old grandma is drilling him about various pack women's body parts and why they're not good enough. He's lamenting having to have a "T & A" discussion w/his grandmother and then trying to explain that "any" girl bits are just not going to work. It's pretty funny. :)

That part is all really good. We also get Nate's background & there are scenes w/Storm, Ben, Trent & Casey, etc which I really liked. I can't say what things made me unhappy cuz of the spoilers.

Another one I've got on the shelf, that I haven't gotten to yet. Hope you like it Dawn.Started
but RL seems determined to get in my way today *sigh*
Just finished
the book has lots of potential but it managed to fall fairly flat in a few areas and our heroine is quite frequently TSTL. At any rate there is enough there which makes me curious about the next book so I will check it out eventually.Next up for me is

Wait lol just to be sure we are talking about
?
Dawn,Yes. I am talking about those two books. The plot to Nightshifted is muddled in my mind - the next two books I can clearly sum up the plot.
I just finished
. Loved it!!! It left me kinda shell shocked, so I'm taking it easy on myself and starting
. I kinda want to finish out the series. Even though this isn't part of the trilogy, just a companion novel, I want to know what happened.

Great thanks!!
I didn't like the reader on
so I had my wife tell me about it (she's read it three times) and then I switched to
. I enjoy that reader a lot more. I also started
like Seanan McGuire I find myself asking "why didn't I read this a long time ago?"

I liked the ending, it gave me hope that they can leave the past in the past.

I also think that Cain could use some fun in his life considering how he has lived his life so far. As to the spoiler, yes, but I was ok with that, mostly because of who it was and really, they needed to go that way.

GTK Alisa, I'm obviously not up to that plot point yet. Got sidetracked & read
today, which I enjoyed, but the editing was terrible ie non existent.
I just finished a reread of
and read
. I'm finishing up a reread of
(actually I'm listening to it in the car), getting ready to read
.
is waiting in the wings.

I'm reading
. I'm about a third of the way in, and I still don't know how I feel about it. I think the heroine (view spoiler).
