How is The Cuckoo's Calling? Did you start it before or after the "big disclosure"?

Hey..how have you been? Haven't seen you here in awhile. I too am excited about the release of Magic Rises. The newest Lords of the Underworld releases that same day. Can't wait.

message 959: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) Hey. Real Life was a bit demanding the past months. I've been lurking around but reading not as much as I wanted to. I'm slowly getting back to my old self.

I've been waiting for a new Kate book since December... too.much.time.to.wait.for.a.book

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Just finished House Rules (Chicagoland Vampires, #7) by Chloe Neill and a little more than halfway done with Hammered (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #3) by Kevin Hearne

Honestly I am not wowed by either of them.

Sandra | 4734 comments Reading Bound By Darkness (Guardians of Eternity, #8) by Alexandra Ivy

message 963: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I finished Ghostwriter by Lissa Bryan which was a sweet love story about a girl who is living in a haunted house & then falls for the ghost through reading old letters he wrote. It was well done but sweet is not really my thing. LOL

So...I moved on to Passion Untamed (Feral Warriors, #3) by Pamela Palmer cuz I can always count on Pamela Palmer to not do sweet. This book has been much darker than the first two books in the series. While I'm a fan of dark reads this book may not be for everyone. Has some non-consenusual sex & the heroine has quite a history of childhood abuse.

message 964: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments Reading Never Deal with Dragons (DRACIM, #1) by Lorenda Christensen which is a great book so far. Dragons were created by an experiment to cure cancer going wrong. Sure, I can see a few obvious things that will come up later, but it isn't stopping my enjoyment ;)

I really liked the first one, but the second one wasn't all that great. I am hoping that this one is more like the first one.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) read Mortal Engines (The Hungry City Chronicles, #1) by Philip Reeve In the Flesh by Portia Da Costa in the last couple of days, now reading The Iron Wyrm Affair (Bannon & Clare, #1) by Lilith Saintcrow , so far not as good as I was hoping, but not bad.

I listened to it but I really enjoyed it. I reserved the next book from the library. It had great characterization. It made me laugh and mist up.

Alisa I finished The Darkest Craving (Lords of The Underworld, #10) by Gena Showalter and I really enjoyed it. I was SO worried about how this book would be. It was definately not old school smexy LOTU but it was still a good read. I didn't know how I would feel about Kane as we never really saw him in past books but I loved him. He comes out of Hell w/some really serious emotional issues and we also find out how isolated & uncared for he has always felt from the other Lords. The heroine was good and very likable. We saw a lot of William who was his usual irreverent self who had some LOL moments. She set up both Torin and Cameo for their books & both of their situations at the end of this book were really interesting. (Cameo's guy is a blast from the past) Honestly I liked the old style best but she did a good job writing the story within her new religious/values belief. This book wasn't preachy or YA'ish like some of her other new stuff. The Lords were still bad boys we just didn't get all the details.

How is the Heart of the Jaguar series? Someone just gave me the first two books. I am SO far behind on Sentinel Wars. Is that one new?

The Jaguar books aren't as good as her wolf ones, but it is a library book so I am only out time. Plus this book will be the make or break book in the series for me.

Falling Blind is the newest Sentinel Wars book. It came out in the spring, but my library just got it.
