The Dark History books are great. There are 4 books in the series: Roman Emperors, Kings & Queens of England, Popes, and American Presidents. I love history and these books are fun - informative and, as you can tell from the title, the books focus on the not so nice side of the rulers. For example, in the popes book, it details that the early 10th century era is referred to as the "Papal Pornocracy" or the "Reign of the Harlots" due to the manipulations of various noble women and the extracurricular activities of the popes. Poor Formosous lived in this era - he was what a pope should be - and he suffered for it - repeatedly!

That would be great! Please do.

Alisa I finished Demon (The Fallen, #2) by Kristina Douglas I liked it a lot. It was a pretty brutal read. The author puts the couple through some pretty tough stuff. The hero is pretty harsh & definately not going to be for everyone. Worked well for me though. Will definately keep reading this series.

Thethriftybooklady (readingdiva8511) | 109 comments I'm reading Preying For Mercywhich is the first 3 books in the series. I have finished Moon Called and really liked it. You know I did not write a review for it and it has been a few years so I am not sure exactly.

Since I gave it three stars I am thinking it was probably a combination of the romance, first book syndrome and/or maybe the plot was thin??

But the good news is I am willing to check out the next one and perhaps this will jog my memory lol.

message 821: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I'm reading Serpent's Kiss (Elder Races, #3) by Thea Harrison and doing a quick re-read/skim of Fury (New Species, #1) by Laurann Dohner so I can start Slade (New Species, #2) by Laurann Dohner I read the first one ages ago & it was a DNR for me but someone just gave me the whole series & seems like everyone but me has read them so I'm going to try them again.

Well I've remembered and I've put her book on the top of my list.

message 825: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I'm listening to Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher which one of you recommended. I like it a lot. Good story and it works really well on audio. Especially for someone like myself who typically doesn't like audio (got to use up those stupid audible credits). I'm only on tape/reason #3 but I can't wait to see what happens next.

This site has the reading order as per the author's recommendation - Breeds Reading Order

This site is great for getting the reading order of many PNR series.

Now I'm on the last book of the trilogy Sacrifice (Gryphon, #3) by Stacey Rourke

message 839: by Caressa (new)

Caressa Brandenburg | 15 comments After reading or partly reading several series books I started Laurann Dohners Cyborg series. I am not a big fan of the space robot type genre at all but I loved her New Species series so I tried the first in this series and loved it. They are easy reads and all pretty similar in the romance department but the stories are usually good and the characters are interesting.

message 840: by Samantha (new)

I'm not very far into Biting Cold. So far it's about the same as the other books. I can't believe how ridiculously expensive this series is. I like it but I don't think it lives up to all the hype.

I can't wait to get to Tiger either. All his "I never want a mate" guarantees his story will be good. LOL
