I always feel like reading a smut book....lol I haven't even read that series but almost bought

How is A Dark History? That looks interesting.

If you want I can move my questions from the buddy read I did before of Slave to Sensation here for you to peruse.

Back reading

The Dark History books are great. There are 4 books in the series: Roman Emperors, Kings & Queens of England, Popes, and American Presidents. I love history and these books are fun - informative and, as you can tell from the title, the books focus on the not so nice side of the rulers. For example, in the popes book, it details that the early 10th century era is referred to as the "Papal Pornocracy" or the "Reign of the Harlots" due to the manipulations of various noble women and the extracurricular activities of the popes. Poor Formosous lived in this era - he was what a pope should be - and he suffered for it - repeatedly!

That one is next...such a YUMMY cover!!

I forgot about that series. I recall thinking the first one had some issues that I hope are worked out in this one.

What didn't you like about the first one? I know the first one got a lot of bad reviews but I liked it.

You know I did not write a review for it and it has been a few years so I am not sure exactly.
Since I gave it three stars I am thinking it was probably a combination of the romance, first book syndrome and/or maybe the plot was thin??
But the good news is I am willing to check out the next one and perhaps this will jog my memory lol.

This site has the reading order as per the author's recommendation - Breeds Reading Order

You are so not alone. I hated the series before I realized how far out of order I was.

Wait until you get to Tiger...I think that was my favorite so far.
How is Biting Cold? My library is taking forever and I am not willing to commit the funds lol

I so love when that happens!

oh me too!

Then I want to clean off the old bookshelf so I am reading

I'm not very far into Biting Cold. So far it's about the same as the other books. I can't believe how ridiculously expensive this series is. I like it but I don't think it lives up to all the hype.
I can't wait to get to Tiger either. All his "I never want a mate" guarantees his story will be good. LOL

"
Exactly!! Btw turns out I am on the next one
House Rules clearly this is not a good sign for the series if I forget what I have read recently LOL
