Not sure if this is where I post this... but GR has Emily Curran as the author, book title FINDING Cassilia, and Amazon has Liz Thomas as the author, title SAVING Cassilia. Not sure who's correct!
Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Saving-Cassilia...

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments Goodreads entry is only book showing for a goodreads author posting and blogging as if hers, bookcover (unless someone has edited) shows same. Kindle ASIN missing.

Can't use data from amazon (and that's an amazon link to title "saving Cassilia" and not an asin search) so except for graphic on bookcovers and the "Cassilia" in title ...

Anyone have a data source? (I struck out at smashwords, lulu, and other indie publishers)

Emily Curran blog at http://emilycurranauthor.blogspot.com...

Book was supposed to be out in November; the other title and author at amazon says out Dec. 30. So maybe a change pre-release? That's all I was able to find out.

Liander (The Towering Pile) Lavoie (liannelavoie) | 40 comments I was also wondering about this book. I actually found this thread by googling the titles. The author of Finding Cassilia, Emily Curran, has spammed me like crazy from multiple fake accounts, and today I got a friend request from the author of Saving Cassilia, Liz Thomas. That really makes me suspicious.

The only thing to do with behavior that you don't approve of is flag it. If you are receiving crappy messages from two Goodreads authors who might be the same person then you should inform customer support.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments The graphic on the cover of both books is exactly the same; but, I know that there are a lot of stock images used for book covers.

Meg (mrsmegb) | 35 comments The descriptions are the same as well -- and the Emily Curran profile has rated Liz Thomas' other publication. It looks like both books have been pulled from Amazon, if they were ever there or even published. It looks like a possible case of an author reinventing them-self under a different name.

I know. I did report the fake accounts and they have been deleted. It's a bit harder to tell with these two authors, but I suspect they're the same person.

Nenangs | 464 comments is it wrong to publish a book with different titles under different pen names?

not that it gives the author a permission to bad behaviour though. :p

No, nothing wrong with that. But her prior behaviour makes me worry that she's just looking for more ways to spam people.

Pen names are fine. Authors reinventing themselves is fine. Authors changing their title & cover every month is fine. Authors reviewing themselves is fine. Spamming, or just being irritating, is not.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments Need a like button :) right on Banjomike.

message 12: by Nenangs (new)

Nenangs | 464 comments So, both books should stay, probably combined.

Regarding her spamming behaviour, report that to GR.

message 13: by Meg (new)

Meg (mrsmegb) | 35 comments They cannot be combined since they have different authors.

message 14: by Nenangs (new)

Nenangs | 464 comments there are ways...:)
Combining done.

♡Karlyn P♡ (karlynp) | 18 comments Not sure where to report this or how to fix, but here is another 'same book, different author' issue.

Knight of the Purple Ribbon by Jennifer K. Lafferty is also listed under the author name Jennifer Leigh Wells. These two are the same person, and when you go to both author pages, the book is listed in the 'books by this author' section.

Knight of the Purple Ribbon
Knight of the Purple Ribbon: A Novel

Cameluta | 98 comments I think that Demolition Angel and Demolition Angel is the same book.

"Demolition Angel" by Robert Craig has in description the author listed as Crais and also the main character has the same name as the one in "Demolition Angel" by Robert Crais. However, a Google search for Demolition Angel ISBN came up with both authors listed.

Amara Tanith (aftanith) Fixed #15 & #16 ("Craig" appears to just be a typo that's gotten around the web.)

Roberta Trahan (robertatrahan) | 1 comments Hello everyone - I am new to the group! Thank you to everyone who has noticed the Emily Curran/Liz Thomas confusion. I am so happy to see the duplicate book listing thing being resolved. I reported this to GR customer service after receiving multiple friend requests from author and reader profiles that looked suspiciously alike. Customer service was very helpful. These two authors are also linked to a similar third author profile - Beth Klein. I'm not sure if these are all pen names of the same person or a group of authors working together, but they are so seem to be engaging in some questionable marketing tactics. Thank you for your work here!

It gets confusing when a thread linked to a specific book is also used for other books. I am closing this thread. Start new ones for other books.
