Good luck. Which is to be your first book this year?

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Let her rest now by Vijay Nair was book 1. The invitation by Anne Cherian was book 2. The Bat by Jo Nesbo was book 3. So the verdict is disappointed, okayish and manageable on the three so far.

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments hehehehe no, book 5 to be exact. Done reading The Hamilton Case By Michelle de Krester. Slow at first, engrossing later on.

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Book 6 A Memory of Light completed. This one was one of the hardest books to finish. It was bloody emotional. This series made me fall in love with fantasy 7 years ago. And the story has ended.

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments @kevin only physical ones. I can't read ebooks. Don't get the same passion. I need the smell of pages. lol.

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Book 7 Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood by Oliver Bowden. Not exactly what I expected. Certainly didn't expect Ezio to fall in love. Well, doesn't happen in the game. Nevertheless, it was actually fun reading it. i need to read the 1st book though.

message 11: by Mridupawan (new)

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Oh crap! I played the wrong game i guess. Funny though, I didn't expect Ezio to be capable of love. I mean he is, but it was always the Brotherhood's missions for him. I need to play that game

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Book 8 The Anza Deception, completed. Socio-political thriller in the heart of India. Fast paced and full of action with twists and turns. A definite page turner. Much much better than the Durjoy Dattas.

Freelancer, you must be reading around 5-6 hours per day to finish all this. Am feeling envious

hahaha not exactly. 2-3 hours a day. But I'm reading multiple books. So 2-3 books get over in the same day sometimes lol.

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Can't believe I took a week long break. But now am back. Book 10 The War Ministry completed. final book of the Raisina Series - This is one of the only reasons I keep coming back to Indian authors. Beautifully written, he is India's answer to Jeffrey Archer

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Book 11. The Cry of the Newborn by James Barclay. Completed. A different fantasy. My first Barclay novel, though this work is not so popular, i picked it up because the books were huge and the synopsis sounded interesting. Needless to say, wasn't disappointed.

message 20: by Mridupawan (new)

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Book 12 A Shout For The Dead by James Barclay. A fitting end to the tale. One of those rare fantasy works that is equally complex and captivating.

message 21: by Mridupawan (new)

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Book 13 Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami. Wow is all I've got for this one. Its no wonder Mr. Murakami is one of the best literary fiction geniuses. This book is outrageous. This book is spellbinding

message 22: by Mridupawan (new)

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Book 14 Domes of Fire by David Eddings. This read is not a part of the ongoing challenge. Just had too many pending fantasy books to read and decided to start with this one. Will give it a 4/5 but before i continue on the rest of the trilogy, i think i will pick up the previous trilogy. To be noted that both the trilogies are separate, yet it helps knowing what adventures created these wonderful characters

message 23: by Mridupawan (new)

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Book 15 Dawnthief by James Barclay. One of the best sword and sorcery novels i've read. Only next to Goodkind.

message 24: by Mridupawan (new)

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Book 16 Nine Princes in Amber by ROger Zelazny. Read this book as part of the Fantasy 2013 Challenge. Its a good beginning. The books aren't huge. Just above 100 pages and the characters are loveable. No wonder this is one of those fantasy classics.

Mridupawan Podder (itsfreelancer) | 342 comments Goodness knows I've haven't been to goodreads for ages. I've been reading but hardly updating. Anyway am here now. Book 17 is House Rules by Jodi Picoult. One thing you should know about Picoult. She will make you cry. She will. And you'll be powerless. You can't stop reading her. House Rules is the story of Jacob, a teenager with Aspergers accused of murder. Brilliant book!

I loved House Rules and Nineteen minutes by her. But 'the pact' and 'tenth circle' were so... so... disappointing.
