Elisabeth So far I've finished all the books on the first list I posted except for Little Dorrit. I just haven't been in a Dickensian mood yet. :) The next few books I'm planning on reading...

The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley
Rifles for Watie by Harold Keith
The Soldier's Cross by Abigail J. Hartman
Never by J. Grace Pennington
In Another Girl's Shoes by Berta Ruck
The Man in Lower Ten by Mary Roberts Rinehart

That's awesome, Elisabeth, that you read through your entire list! :D

Elisabeth This is the next batch of books I'm going to be working through. Most of it was going to be my summer reading, but I sort of got tired of waiting for summer to come so I could read them. :)

The Moonspinners by Mary Stewart
High Lonesome by Louis L'Amour
All This, and Heaven Too by Rachel Field
Kate Fennigate by Booth Tarkington
Thorofare by Christopher Morley
The Bellamy Trial  by Frances Noyes Hart
No Time on My Hands by Grace Snyder

That's the spirit! Why wait? :D

Elisabeth Now that it finally seems to be summer (you wouldn't believe the amount of rain we've had through most of June...) I've got a summer reading list! It's a nice jumbled hodgepodge like most of my reading lists turn out to be:

A Time to Stand by Walter Lord
The Gabriel Hounds by Mary Stewart
The Art of the Epigraph: How Great Books Begin edited by Rosemary Ahern
These Wonderful Rumours!: A Young Schoolteacher's Wartime Diaries by May Smith
The Governess by Evelyn Hervey
Harlequin and Columbine by Booth Tarkington
Good Men and True, and Hit the Line Hard by Eugene Manlove Rhodes
The Treasure by Kathleen Norris
The Rider of Golden Bar by William Patterson White
A Room with a View by E.M. Forster
The Elements of Style by William Strunk and E.B. White
The Bellamy Trial  by Frances Noyes Hart

That ought to hold me for a while, don't you think? "Ought" being the key word there. :)

*laughs* At the rate you've been going, dear, I'm not sure that will last very long... ;)

Now, The Elements of Style, that's an excellent writing theory book. One of the few I myself recommend as influential.
