Editions are never automatically combined, so don't worry - you did nothing wrong! I combined it with the other editions. :)
I wanted to add my copy of The Magician's Nephew in the database, but stupidly thought it would still end up as an edition to The Magician's Nephew even if I put the name of the series in Swedish (Berättelsen om Narnia as opposed to Chronicles of Narnia). At least I hope it is possible to combine them?
Terribly sorry about it...
